Members of the Surrey RCMP have taken down a sophisticated counterfeiting operation by arresting Nathan PAOLINELLI, a man wanted for escaping from prison in Alberta. On November 16, 2009, Nathan PAOLINELLI escaped from Bowden Institution in Alberta, where he was serving a lengthy jail sentence for fraud-related offences. An arrest warrant was issued for PAOLINELLI, who was now considered to be a prison escapee. It is alleged that following his escape, PAOLINELLI and his girlfriend, Stacey SCHARF, continued moving West towards the Lower Mainland area. While making this trip, the duo successfully passed counterfeit American money at a store in Kelowna in December of 2009. This act brought them to the attention of the Federal Integrated Counterfeit Enforcement Team at E Division Commercial Crime. This Team began an investigation, tracking incidents where similar counterfeit notes were passed in the Lower Mainland in January of 2010. Acting on information received from members of the Surrey Gang Enforcement Team and the Federal Integrated Counterfeit Enforcement Team, the Combined Forces Identity Theft Team of the Surrey RCMP established surveillance on an apartment building in the North Surrey area where it was believed that PAOLINELLI was staying with SCHARF. We call mad people lots of names. Most of them are not meant to be complimentary. But what do mad people call themselves? Do they accept labels that others stick on them? Do they apply their own labels? Why might one person choose a different label than another? This is a short documentary in which twelve Toronto activists discuss how they identify themselves. Documentaries are one of Ryerson University's online learning tools, used by instructors to spark discussion in the online student forums. This documentary is a part of unique and engaging online course called "Mad People's History," developed by Digital Education Strategies at The Chang School and David Reville, an instructor with the School of Disability Studies at Ryerson University. © 2010 Ryerson University. Caller claims to be from Service Canada. She asks for sin numbers as well as mailing address, claiming that mail was returned as undeliverable I don't know if this was a scammer or if it was SC.. Leaves a phone number to call, (780) 495-0118 / 7804950118 780 495 0118 780-495-0118, and leave the information on a message machine. We inquired at ServiceCanada, a day later got a callback from a someone from SC? She said it was their number. However she couldn't answer why they had returned letters, as our address on file was correct, and couldn't explain why an SC employee would be calling 8PM Fri nite, and threatening to close the claim if we didn't call back with the SIN and Addy info by monday. Government never asks for a SIN by telephone??? who said that it was in fact a SC number. If anyone recognizes the voice, pls email me. -advice is to never give your sin number online, as no government agency should ask for it. I checked the Service Canada info online and was correct address.

What about 'Sitting Duck' loans?' is a compilation of Oakville 2006 Canadian Federal Candidates' answers to a question from a victim of 'Predatory Lending'. Tony Crawford is known to have written to Liberal and Conservative governing Prime Ministers including 21 reports to 21 government agencies without response or effect. He is the author of a storybook scheme 'THE PERFECT STING' that targets 'Sitting Ducks' as recipient debtors of namesake loans.
