Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi while speaking at the occasion of the convocation ceremony at IIIT Amethi and said that today there are tewo 'India' one is connected and the other 'unconnected'. "Rahul Gandhi said "One part of India is well connected while the other part of India is the poor India, which is not connected. And today more than 60 to 70 percentage of India are still unconnected. And the job that we have in the next 10, 20 or thirty years is to take the unconnected India and connect it to the prosperous India". Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi while talking at the occasion of the convocation ceremony at IIT Amethi told that our mission should be to connect the unconnected India to the rest of the country. "What has been happening in the past 20-30 years is that our country has been moving very fast and for the first time we don't have any shortage of money. The connected India has been moving ahead; even when the world was facing economic crisis, this connected India was surging ahead. So we are generating enough money to create and to start seriously impacting the unconnected India and to start actively connecting it. And this is the mission that most of you are going to do" said Rahul Gandhi.

Asha Kiran (a ray of Hope) is a school run by IIIT students for kids who come from nearby slums. We teach them Telugu, Maths, English and Hindi. Age group of these kids range from 6-15yrs.Apart from the normal teaching methodology we also adopt various other means such as learning through videos and games.These children also particpiate in few of the cultural activities of the college. The classes are held 6 days a week in the evening and after the classes snacks are also been served to the kids.Moreover its about spreading education among the masses and fun at the same time,becoming children with the kids. ashakiran.iiit.ac.in
