Range, power, performance, safety redundancy, reliability, sophisticated avionics all come with the C-130J Super Hercules - an aircraft that can meet virtually any airlift mission requirement. With Rolls-Royce AE2100D3 engines and Dowty R391 six-bladed composite propellers, the Super Hercules operates in hot climates, handling short, high-elevation airstrips with maximum payload. The Super Hercules transports 33 percent more payload, using half the crew, while burning less fuel and flying faster, farther and higher than its predecessors. Faster: The C-130J is faster and climbs more quickly, offers 21% more speed. Time-to-climb is slashed by 50% over earlier model C-130s. Higher: The C-130J flies higher, climbs over the weather and has a 40% greater cruising altitude than the C-130H. Farther: The C-130J flies much farther with less fuel, provides up to 40% greater range than the C-130H. Clearly, Lockheed Martin has gone much farther than simply producing an upgrade to the legendary C-130. Virtually every system, component and structural part of the Super Hercules has been chosen to yield a maximum performance airlifter, which is why the aircraft has so quickly gained worldwide appeal. In the United States, the US Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Marine Corps and Coast Guard rely on the C-130J. International C-130J operators include the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy and Denmark with Norway, Canada and India . Many nations are taking notice of the ...

After spending the day in Ocean City, Maryland shooting video for Bike Week 2010 we decided to stop by the Indian River Inlet and check out the action. There were boats everywhere. Most that were fishing were probably hoping to hook into some early striper action. The rockfish are just a few weeks away though. We are going to catch some big ones in here come October :) I was filming with my Canon Vixia HF S20 with a wide angle lens. I was filming at 1080p @ 60i so I could slow down the footage for a more dramatic effect. *** Please Subscribe, Thumbs Up, and Comment *** Follow us on Twitter @ www.twitter.com

Off the coast of Mumbai, two Panamanian cargo ships collided over the weekend. Now, teams from the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard attempt to contain an oil spill. Here's that story. Teams from the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard are attempting to contain an oil spill off the coast of Mumbai after two Panamanian cargo ships collided over the weekend. All crewmembers have been rescued. One ship, which was carrying a cargo of diesel and lubricant oil capsized, triggering an oil slick. While efforts are underway to contain the damage, officials say oil was still leaking from the cargo and the slick was likely to spread farther because of the tide and windy conditions. Scores of containers flung overboard were making navigation difficult and efforts were underway to secure them. Fisherman fear for their future. [Hemant Kohli, Fisherman]: "They are saying don't put your nets (in the sea) for four days because water has been contaminated by oil. Now what will we do?" Some of the containers from the ship are already close to shore. The Mumbai port, one of the busiest in the country, has suspended operations.

Russia is the world's second largest producer of barley after the EU and the cereal crop is used by many farmers as animal feed. The recent price rise could also have a possible knock-on effect on the cost of beer as a significant proportion of the remainder of barley production goes into the brewing trade on both sides of the Atlantic. LATVIAN BOAT LOST AT SEA (Partial transcript) It seems unlikely that the crew of the boat Kaupo had taken ashore on some island; it is more probable that they were the victims of a sudden mishap, according to experienced sailors... how is it possible that modern shipping observational systems did not see the craft?, here is our correspondent: ----- the monitors in the Marine and Coast Guard observatories can see every vessel in the Baltic Sea, its coordinates and name. This global monitoring system does not see the Kaupo. ---------- (RL) the system is required on vessels exceeding 300 tons brutto, in other words for commercial vessels... leisure and pleasure craft do not usually have the system, and hence, the yachts registered here in Latvia to not have this system installed --------- (corr) although the crew did have a satellite telephone, it had become wet and useless. Coast Guard monitors also register every SOS call in the world, ----- you can see it here, exactly these dots, the deployed buoys in the world... today also, on January 26, a buoy was deployed in the Indian Ocean, but that was a Panamá registered vessel. ---- however, no distress signal was received from the global travelers, even though they did have two emergency transmitter devices onboard the catamaran. Both sailors and rescuers agree that the boys are treated with nonchalance in many cases and are stored somewhere on board instead of mounted on the hull as designated. ----------- So in case the ...
