This type of foolishness reminds me to be happy that I am in my right mind and have been blessed with an ounce of patience Let this be a lesson to you all! If you act like a moron in public other people will see you, talk about you and maybe, just maybe record you and put it on youtube powderpink

This is a video diary of my train trip around China with my dear friend Yang Chaolin. It's composed as a video clip to Enigma's "Indian Chanting" (clearly inspired by Michel Gondry's "Star Guitar" video for the Chemical Brothers) from the many short fragments I filmed along the way with a tiny digital camera. We spent 61 hours of 9 days on the road in trains, from chongqing to Xian to Beijing and back down Yellow River through Chengdu to Chongqing.

This is my typical mode of long distance travel in India, as it is for most of the Indian middle class. This shows the "Sleeper Class" accommodations on the "Shiv Ganga" from Varanasi to New Delhi, which is usually about a 12 hour journey overnight. This costs about 321 Rupees (about $8.23)each way. After 9:00 pm, the back rest of the bench seating flips up to become the middle tier of the three tier sleeping "births." I chain and lock my suitcase to the underside of the bottom bench overnight. I always try to book/reserve the upper birth so I can still rest if the others in my "bogie" decide to stay up late sitting on the lower bench and talking or something.
