Subtitles: In case you want to directly download the subtitle file, just go to the link below: docs.google.com copy the text to a "text document(say example.txt)" and then change the extension to .srt(say example.srt). Finally, rename the file (example.srt) from "example" to the name of the downloaded .flv file. This will sync the flv file to the subtitles. Sadly I did not understand anything of this interview (not being a German speaker). But it is still a delight to watch Christoph speak and to hear his voice, so I have uploaded this video.Even if the only words I could understand were "yeah", "gut", "schauspieler", deutsch, vehement, tarantino, and a few others that can be counted on my finger tips. I am sure Goethe Institutes would be experiencing an increase in the number of candidates applying for German courses in countries where Inglourious Basterds was released-all thanks to our dear Christoph. Looks like there is another award headed Christoph Waltz's way(instituted by the Goethe Institutes for promotion of the German language ) ;-) Probably Austria should appoint him a cultural ambassador or something similar. Also, the colour-changing backgrounds in the video go really well with Christoph's light-coloured jacket. All-in-all a visual treat. I only wish a kind German soul would provide the subtitles for it(I know its a long shot, but there is always hope- as is so clearly evident in Christoph's meteoric rise ). Way to go Christoph!!!!

These are some excerpts from the episode "Villa Palermo" (1997) which is part of the German tv series "Faust". Faust is a police detective who works undercover. In this episode he pretends to be a painter in order to solve the murder of one of the resident artists of an art school. Christoph plays Gerhard, the founder and director of the art school. Since the victim wore his coat, it is at first believed that Gerhard was killed. In the following, he becomes a suspect. But when he is nearly killed by a bomb it becomes obvious that the first victim was killed by mistake and that Christoph's character is the true target of the killer. The series has not been released on DVD or VHS. Inorder to turn the subtitles on, you need to click the "up arrow" button on the bottom right of the video player and then click the captions/subtitles menu button. Further clips from Christoph's earlier films can be found under www.youtube.com
Eli Roth as director "Alois Von Eichberg" discusses Hitler's support for the film "Nation's Pride". This is a humorous behind-the-scenes of the film within the film, "Inglourious Basterds". Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" arrives on Blu-ray & DVD on 12/15.

Christoph Waltz reveals what happened when Quentin Tarantino gave him the role in "Inglourious Basterds."
These are some excerpts from the movie with the long title, ie "Das merkwürdige Verhalten geschlechtsreifer Grossstaedter zur Paarungszeit" / "The odd behaviour of sexually mature city dwellers in the mating season" (1998). Christoph plays Charly, a chronically unsuccessful author who also acts as the film's narrator. At the beginning of the film he tells us that he will be dead when it ends. His last day starts with a quarrel with his ex-wife. He refuses to look after their young child, because he has an appointment with a publisher. As usual though, his book gets rejected. By chance, he acquires the possession of the publisher's red Ferrari. The frustrated Charlie decides to kill himself by crashing the Ferrari into a tree after a few farewell drinks. While he is in the bar, the Ferrari is stolen by two adventure-seeking women trying to overcome their midlife-crisis. In Germany, the film used to be released on DVD RC 2 (without English subtitles). There are still many new and used copies available. Inorder to turn the subtitles on, you need to click the "up arrow" button on the bottom right of the video player and then click the captions/subtitles menu button. Further clips from Christoph's earlier films can be found under www.youtube.com
These are some excerpts from an interview which was recorded for the DVD release of the film "Die Patriarchin" / "The patriarch" (2005). Please read this before watching the clip! These are two little excerpts from the episode "Leben und Tod" / "Life and Death" of the German tv series "Die Anwaelte" / "The Lawyers" (2008). In Germany, the series has been released on DVD RC2 (no English subtitles). Those of you who might want to buy or rent it should neither read on nor watch this clip, because it contains definite plot spoilers. Christoph's part is small, but truly heartbreaking when it takes its surprising turn. His Herbert Jahn has to stand trial for the killing of his wife, a deed which he admits to have committed. A policeman testifies that neighbours had called him to the Jahn flat several times before, because they heard someone being beaten inside. The policeman had tried to persuade Jahn's wife to press charges against her husband for marital abuse, but she had always refused to do so. Please watch the clip now. In a discussion with the defense lawyers and during the trial, it gets revealed that the roles in the marital conflict were actually reversed and that it was Mr. Jahn who received serious injuries from his wife. He never defended himself, because he did not want to hurt her. Only when he was in peril of life, he finally did so, thus causing the death of his wife. At the end of the trial, the court accepts the self-defense plea and passes a verdict of not guilty. Inorder to turn the subtitles on, you need to click the "up arrow" button on the bottom right of the video player and then click ...
These are two excerpts from the unusually profound German tv thriller "Todsuende" / "Capital Sin" (2008). It is rather a whydunnit than a whodunnit, because right at the beginning of the film the audience witnesses the coinciding killings of two women, Nehle Schubert and Ines Gebirg. Both the mother and the grandmother of Ines committed suicide. She joined a nunnery, but ran away from there. When the audience first sees her she is having sex in a barn with Christoph's character, Sebastian Flies. After the love act she begs him to commit another by asking him to strangle her which he eventually does ( - the man simply can't keep his hands off women's throats ....). Sebastian himself used to be a successful foreign correspondent. But when his sister dies from cancer his life begins to disintegrate. He resignes from his job, leaves his wife and son and moves into a shabby apartment. Once and again he is joined by similarily lost souls who share his disgust of existence and also try to drown their sorrows in alcohol. When the dead body of the other woman Nehle is found, the police investigator suspects that Sebastian might have something to do with the supposed murder of that woman and the vanishing of her child, because witnesses claim that Nehle also stayed a couple of days in Sebastian's apartment. When the cop first meets Sebastian in a restaurant, he is drunk and his remarks appear confused. On the next morning, he is therefore summoned to police headquarters for further ...

Inglourious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino's long-awaited and even longer planned spaghetti war film, has hit our screens in a splash of stylised violence and smooshed Nazis. Earlier this year we caught up with a whole pack of Cannes-based Basterds - including Lawrence Bender, Til Schweiger, Eli Roth, Christoph Waltz, and the mighty Michael Fassbender - to find out what it was like to work with a genuine auteur.
Landa reveals himself to be a turncoat. He attempts to reach a deal with Raine's commanding officer (Harvey Keitel) via a two way radio in which he proposes.

Hitler is outraged by how 'Inglorious Basterds' ends. WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!! NOTE: I DO NOT OWN THIS MOVIE!!! This footage is taken from the 2004 film Der Untergang [Downfall] directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, which I recommend for anyone to legally purchase on Blu-ray and/or DVD. This footage has been used for the non-profit purpose of film criticism, education, and artistic parody. Furthermore, the actors, actresses, filmmakers, motion pictures, characters, events, and opinions expressed are not meant to reference any other situation, occurrence, or opinion, real or fictitious, of any kind. If an involved party has an issue or concern with this film, I am more than happy to address them directly. Contact me at your convenience. And finally, this film is dedicated to Quentin Tarantino... who I believe subscribes to the same philosophy of Alfred Hitchcock when he noted "imitation is a form of flattery" in response to the 1977 Mel Brooks film 'High Anxiety'. (There, you see? You just learned something. Ha!)

If you enjoy a subtilted movie, you might enjoy this more than I did. Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino are great, just not together. Brad's Tennessee character was not believable; he was funny and scary. The action that Quentin put toghter was superb but it didn't have that... IT factor. Mike Myers cameo was quite forgettable, he sounded like Dr. Evil, and this was not Tom Cruise's character, "Les Grossman" from the movie Tropic Thunder, who did steal the show. To sum it up, lots of shooting ...

It is set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II and has the largest number of speaking roles of any Tarantino film to date and was filmed in several locations, among them Germany and France. Filming began in October 2008. The title (and partial premise) of the upcoming film are inspired by Italian director Enzo Castellari's 1978 movie Inglorious Bastards, but it is not a remake of that film. The director has repeatedly stressed that despite it being a war film, the movie will be his "spaghetti-western but with World War II iconography". In addition to spaghetti-westerns, the film also pays homage to the World War II "macaroni-combat" sub-genre (itself heavily influenced by spaghetti-westerns), as well as films by Jean-Luc Godard. The film was accepted into the main selection at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival in competition for the prestigious Palme d'Or and had its world premiere there in May. It wound up being the only US film to win any award in Cannes, earning a Best Actor award. The Weinstein Company has stated August 21, 2009, as the tentative US release date. Brad Pitt - (Lt. Aldo Raine) Eli Roth - (Sgt. Donnie Donowitz) Diane Kruger - (Bridget Von Hammersmark) Melanie Laurent - (Shosanna) BJ Novak - (PFC Utivich) Samm Levine - (Pvt. Hirschberg) Mike Myers - (Gen.
