As you can see in the stands, it's pretty insanely packed. Crazy left hand turn freaks. I had to get out of front row reserved seating, where shooting across track at tire pit stop. Best spot was the top of hill at apex of turn 2-3. Damn fencing! The ESPN TV camera operator in close up was with 300mm f2.8, from the same position on the hill. He's on the platform of blue crane boom in video wide shot. I could easily see his monitor tracking the cars close up, but I forgot about the speed of my shutter to capture the full scan of monitor. Sorry, I'll get it right next time. And for those who need to know, the tune is from Gran Turismo, My Favorite Game, by the Cardigans. This new Iowa Speedway is a nice track and facility. Designed by Rusty Wallace. 7/8 mile Tri-Oval. I have to dearly thank 'Christy' of the track staff with the personal 4x4 transport of myself and 30lbs of camera gear strapped on my back. The mile hike back to the truck would of been brutal. And a thanks' to Randy from John Deere in Rogers, Mn. who grabbed me on the way to the track. OMG, I have a video on youtube, and in HD. I used imovie 9 on the macpro, and learned along the way how to fail with several attempts that looked miserable. If you have tips on final editing, I'd love to hear it.
