If both your buttons are broken, the only way to get out of sleep or power on your device, is by charging it. Well all you do is instead of restoring with itunes witch will upgrade or firmware witch will get rid of all you apps. To fix the reboot device problem for the winterboard just plug your ipod up to your computer after installing winterboard (where ipod shuts off into DUF mode) and open black rain. This is a really easy jailbreak for any generation ipod touch or iphone as long as the firmware is 3.1.2 If you run into any problems like cydia isnt downloading...you are going to have to do it again. If your ipod freezes when the pic comes up you have to put ur ipod into DFU mode. Get free stuff from swagbucks, just by searching google...where i got an ipod touch!- www.swagbucks.com for all those people who are having problems with Itunes syncing the apps: alright your gonna have to try this solution, it worked for me although it may not 100% work for you (atleast we can give it a go!) 1- Un-install Itunes completely from windows( either using CCleaner or just windows' un-install wizard) 2 - Download CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com 3 - Install it 4 - By this time, itunes will have uninstalled, you WILL need to restart your pc 5 - Open up CCleaner and use its Registry clean-up( scan and "fix issues") 6 - Restart PC 7 - Re-install itunes 8 - then uninstall the appsync on iphone/itouch 9 - INSTALL FROM CYDIA - AND REBOOT 10 - Vwala....it should now sync successfully without unchecking the cracked apps.
