'Ishqiya' starts with a run of the mill plot of two thieves -Nasser and Arshad Warsi- being chased by a bigger goon, for stealing his money. They land up in a village and meet the beautiful Vidya Balan. They both fall for her. But the goon fishes them out of this hideout too. Vidya draws up a kidnapping ploy to help them pay off their debt. They execute her plan to the T only to learn they are pawns in the hands of this femme fatale. There's more deadly drama to this rustic and lusty tale.
ISHQIYA is definitely worth a watch. The film has a riveting plot, great performances, soulful music, an absorbing story and skilful direction to make the viewer fall in ishq with it. It should appeal to the hardcore masses as also the multiplex junta. Our rating at Bollywood Backstage 3.5/5
With Ishqiya releasing alongside Rann there is sure to be stiff competition and as these two big films are concerned Rann with the Big B and the other Ishqiya with his onscreen mother Vidhya.
