AIDS is the number one killer worldwide of women ages 15-40. You can get HIV from a woman or a man. HIV leads to AIDS. Straight people AND gay people get AIDS. You can get AIDS whether you're the top or the bottom. You can also get AIDS from someone if you use the same needle they used for heroin or other street drugs. In America and other developed nations, we have access to medicines that can keep folks with AIDS alive longer, but it's not an effing cakewalk, people. You'll FEEL like you WANT to die, even with the medication. It's a horrible, sickening, miserable, tough disease. It destroys people. USE A CONDOM. DON'T SHARE NEEDLES. AIDS can also be transmitted from a mother to a newborn baby - but this can be prevented. Ask Annie Lennox. I took an old traditional folk song, changed up the words a bit, and sang it. I first heard "When I Was a Young Girl" done by Odetta when I was a teenager, listening to my parents' records. - RIP Odetta. The photos are mine and were taken in Fort Worth, Texas. December 1st is World AIDS Day. www.worldaidsday.org USE A CONDOM. DON'T SHARE NEEDLES.
My entry for the "Kathy Griffin Youtube Contest" I'd also like to add, that I had no help filming, or editing this video. The only assistance I reveived was by Shaun Proulx agreeing to be in the video and have me on his show as a guest if I win. Other than that, it was only me, and tripod, and iMovie. I'm completely self taught, and an almost OCD desire to get as many unique viewings as possible. After missing the deadline for Kathy Griffin's "She'll Cut A Bitch" free DVD, I was very disappointed. All was not lost with this rework entry to her new fabulous contest to win tickets to PrideFest and a meet and greet, I knew that I could dream again of actually meeting her, which you have to admit is a lot better than a free DVD. Consider this video contest entry to be very green, it's recycled leaving a very small carbon footprint. Often I've been asked, "What is up with you and Kathy Griffin?" So here's the story. I've been an out HIV positive activist for over twenty years now. Since it seems like I'm actually going to grow old, I need something new to focus on, and hey why not Kathy? The real truth is that I was stealing her shtick long before I really knew her comedy and consequently fell in love humour and art of self-promotion. In the world of AIDS activism there is, believe it or not, a star system. Yes, I know, an AIDS celebrity, it's kind of like an oxymoron. On World AIDS Day, and whilst my colleagues are tending to their national press interviews for the occasion ...

'AIDS' by MC Paul Barman Produced by Memory Man & Max Anomalous Track #17 from new LP "Thought Balloon Mushroom Cloud" Available now @ www.mcpaulbarman.com & iTunes! Drawing by MC Paul Barman Film by Monihan Monihan AIDS makes people fraid to get laid Let's trade knowledge and make that stuff fade It's transmitted in semen and blood You can't git it from a kiss or a hug It's bugged that we're teamless unlike extremists HIV via intravenous or anus to penis Where you might $#!+, it's a tight fit Break blood vessels no light hit Sexual revolution, eventual confusion. No tests then for preventable pollution of T-cells, rebels, bleed, heed well to stay protected No matter who's elected, it's still the same If Europe were infected, we'd drop pills from planes Big pharm pimped em but it may be impossible to do more than suppress a symptom They paid for a race war instead of an AIDS cure How friends and fam react sets the tone some are disowned, thrown out the home everyone deserves love, never left alone You can't get AIDS from shared silverware There's no need to spray toilet seat with aer- osol, wherewithal, please. You can't get AIDS from a cough, sneeze, even if someone bleeds it would have to be directly into a fresh wound with flesh ruined or unprotected sex. Half a million people don't know they're infected in the US They're more dangerous than those who came up positive in tests. So please tell the next kid, go get tested. A problem won't go away unless we address it ...

It's World Aids Day and local health leaders are launching a new campaign to prevent HIV-infected mothers from transmitting the virus to their babies.
It's World AIDS Day, for some reason, AIDS was probably discovered on this day or something, and here is a PIF to tell us that people with AIDS do exist, actually. I'm obviously thinking this was shown after the watershed, too much sexual content in my opinion, but you never know, TV these days, they could be showing anything uncensored now, I saw Think! Take Longer To Look For Bikes on Nickolodeon a few days ago, and that just took me for surprise, I wouldn't think that would get approved on kids TV. Anyway, about the PIF, I think it works, nice endline, touch of black comedy, all the usual.A nice, easy PIF.Something nice to calm down to after watching Think!'s take on Drinking And Driving Wrecks Lives, which has warped me for life, thank you very much. According to the World Health Organization, the number new HIV cases has decreased by 17 percent over the last 8 years. Thats about 400 thousand less infections during 2008. The WHO attributes the decrease to prevention and education programs, but admits those efforts are not a one size fits all approach. In fact, there are now 33.5 million people infected with AIDS world-wide, the largest number ever. The WHO says most likely this is because AIDS patients are living longer. One day before ...

Let's join hands against this new apartheid - apathy towards the HIV positives. It's, unarguably, worser than the virus itself.
This is a quick video we did for World AIDS Day, 01/12/2009. I know it's a deep topic and has some heavy images.. but I had to do something for for the poor bambinos who die at the hands of the wicked desease. So please, check it out, spread the word or chip in some funds if you can. I say this a gentlemen.. "no donation is too small!" There are many website and heaps of people in every city across the world taking donations. Peace and Much Respect. Mike Justice...
