Arteta's England intent Mikel Arteta conceded this weekend he is open to the idea of playing for England. Skysports.com's Alex Dunn ponders whether the future of English football is a Spanish midfielder His trip to Merseyside looked wasted as Jack Rodwell, hailed as a future England star by many, could not have been more frustrated had he been asked to pluck the splinters from his backside while wearing boxing gloves as he was left to stew on the substitutes' bench. And yet, amid the drudgery, there was perhaps at least one reason to be cheerful for Capello. Mikel Arteta shone like a lighthouse over a choppy sea of misplaced passes and profligacy as his speed of thought was matched by his feet. There was much to admire from the Spaniard, who is now eligible to play for England having acquired British citizenship after five years at Goodison Park and has intimated strongly this weekend that he would be receptive to Capello's call I don't know what [Capello's] thoughts are," said Arteta. "If one day the opportunity comes, obviously I would have to consider it very seriously." Since joining Everton in 2005 from Real Sociedad, who must have wept every day since at selling for just £2million, Arteta has been the fulcrum for all that has been good about David Moyes' tenure at Goodison

The 2009-2010 season was the best in recent history for the blue revolution. A fifth place finish was macthed with the highest number of points since the success of the 60's and the Premier League's inception. The spending spree of former manager,Mark Hughes, brought a new bunch of top class players to Eastlands including former Arsenal duo, Emmanuel Adebayor and captain Kolo Toure, and former Villa favourite, Gareth Barry. The side pushed all the way for Champions League football, narrowly missing out to Spurs by a single goal. However,City produced magnificent performances throughout the season, claiming victory at home over Arsenal and Chelsea, and also a fanstatic 4-2 win over the Premier League Champions, Chelsea,on their home turf, Stamford Bridge. Dramatic matches against United also provided entertainment for the City fans, who saw former United striker,Carlos Tevez, strike against his former club, and also a fantastic brace from Craig Bellamy at Old Trafford. January signings of former Arsenal legend,Patrick Vieira and young Middlesborough talent, Adam Johnson, added speed and strength to a growing City squad. Johnson's outstanding goal at the Stadium Of Light was voted City's Goal Of The Season and earned the 23 year old a firm place in the hearts of the Citizens fans. Great things are expected of the Eastlands outlet in the future, with world class signings continuing to arrive at the City Of Manchester Stadium. Roberto Mancini's men will push for honours as the ...

Joining the Blues from Middlesborough, under-21 England international,Adam Johnson brought his relatively inknown talents to the Premier League, and showed the fans his worth. Despite having to fight for a first team place all season with players like Shaun Wright-Phillips, Adam worked hard throughout the second half of the 2009/2010 season, winning two well deserved man of the match performances in City's 2-0 home win over Bolton and also at Burnley's Turf Moor where the Blues ran out 6-1 winners. His one goal of the season came at Sunderland's Stadium Of Light, in the last 5 minutes with a fantastic curler earning the Blues a well deserved point. In fact, this goal was so good,it was voted City's Goal Of The Season, beating Sylvinho's Scunthorpe strike and Bellamy's belter at Old Trafford. Despite only picking up the one goal, Johnson's continous affects on the right and left wings began to give himself a name, with Fabio Capello's interest earning him a well deserved place in the England manager's prilimilary squad for the 2010 World Cup. Despite missing out on South Africa, Adam is predicted to be one of the players of England's future alongside others such as Jack Wilshere and Jack Rodwell. Johnson's future looks bright at Manchester City, and his efforts and superb wing play is sure to help City strive to achieve their goals in seasons to come.

This piece of work was created by a group of four A-level students from the Royal Latin School in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire. The group members were as follows: Ben Gold Ben Rigby Joe Vincent and Lawrence Hunt (Myself) For our A2 Media Studies Coursework we decided to produce 'a Sky Sports News-style sports news panel moving image production', and here it is so check it out guys, let us know what you think and feel free to leave any tips as to what we could do better next time and how (if you like). Unfortunately the green screen facilities at our school were shocking, hence the poor chroma keying. It is also a shame that one of the presenters - a certain Mr. Gold - forgot to look at the camera, abso wasteman. But try to see past these things and give us your feedback :) Please note also that, one, we aren't marked on our acting or vocal skills so any criticism of those would be ludicrous and unwelcome, and two, that this is the first time we had ever used this software, so yes I guess you could call us novices! We spent just two days editing - the day before the coursework deadline and the actual deadline day itself :D I hope you enjoy it people and don't forget to rate!! *This video was created using Serif movieplus X3. **The only music used is a snippet of Clint Mansell's 'Requiem For A Dream (Lux Aerterna)' feat.
