Penetration and expansion test using jugs filled with wet newspaper; 4 layers of denim. Test gun was a Glock 22, 4.5" barrel.
Evaluation of the CorBon Pow'RBall in 9mm. Test media was wet newspaper jugs with 4 layers of denim. Segment includes slow-motion of impact. Test gun was the Glock 19. This was a night test from the garage, but I had a backstop, plus trees in the backyard....and another two miles of forest downrange. There were some deer mingling around, but they retreated once they saw the Glock. Penetration and expansion test using one-gallon jugs stuffed with wet newspaper. Four layers of denim also used; test gun was a Glock 22. Temperature during the test was 30-32 degrees, but the test jugs had been stored at room temperature for 4 1/2 days. I wanted to mention this based on the results. Sometimes bullets will expand into a perfect mushroom, but there is also the chance they will not for whatever reason. I still believe this would be a cartridge to consider for concealed carry, in spite of the less-than-optimum results.

Basic penetration and expansion test for the Winchester PDX1 Supreme Elite Bonded JHP in .40 S&W. Four layers of denim was used in the test, and wet newspaper packed into one gallon jugs. Video also includes brief segments of "triple taps" to show recoil with a Glock 22. This a new round (2009) but is already making an impact (no pun intended), as it has been adopted by the FBI as their duty load. It appears this cartridge will perform well, but I greatly appreciate the fact that it is currently widely available at many retail sports outlets, and for a reasonable price.

I was curious to learn how well this backyard test compared with the official FBI ballistic gel with denim test. *** UPDATE *** 10-28-09: I'm getting feedback that this is the 2nd generation bullet for this load, and that the FBI is using a 3rd generation bullet. Once this is fully confirmed, I will add a suitable annotation to the video.

Water jug/newspaper test for the 9mm Montana Gold JHP bullet, loaded by DoubleTap Ammo. Test also uses denim to simulate clothing. Test gun was a Glock 19. Video indicates advertised velocity reading from DoubleTap, in addition to my own chronograph readings with the same gun, Glock 19. Montana Gold bullets are very popular with reloaders and competition shooters. Regarding the test, I'm not revealing anything.....it is well worth your time to watch if you are considering this load for concealed carry. Also, this video was not intended to criticize either DoubleTap or Montana Gold. I am a DoubleTap customer, and believe that Montana Gold makes an excellent product for it's intended purpose.
Desmon is a 47 year old man who has struggled with chronic homelessness for years. As a diabetic with high blood pressure, obesity, and depression, health problems made steady employment difficult for him. He had been earning a living as a stand-up comedian and sidelining as a freelance t-shirt designer, when an especially severe bout of depression changed everything. He came to Federal City Shelter (FCS) as a last resort. Desmons determination in the shelter was unique. He knew he needed to change his destructive habits. As a break from the pressure, Desmon continually went back to designing and producing t-shirts, and he began to entertain the idea of turning his hobby into a full time job. He made t-shirts for fellow residents and case managers, and even took small orders for sports teams and family reunions. Desmon wanted to expand the business, but he lacked the technology needed to produce a high volume of t-shirts efficiently enough to turn much of a profit. For Desmon, a $300 t-shirt press would mean the difference between a small, part-time hobby, and a lucrative, lifelong career. Well, I've finally churned out another level. This one is my first sky level, and it also autoscrolls, just like the original 1-4. Mario'll will have to use the new "Jet Pipe" to get big boosts on his jumps to reach safety. You can even get the White Mushroom House with 44 coins in this level(which I do in this vid). It's a lot tougher though - you'll need to get EVERY coin in the level. My coin counter starts at zero - pay close attention. I also pull off the Hammer Bros. to Coin Ship trick (what can I say, I'm a showoff :D) (LEVEL MADE BY JHP) If you watch, please comment on my hacking abilities.
