This is a great, live Kingston Trio performance of the song ~ Greenback Dollar, which features John Stewart!! (He had the 1979 hit single ~ Gold, which Lindsey had produced.) This clip is from a 1982 Kingston Trio & Friends Reunion special. (This was taped in Valencia, CA in 1981.) Lindsey Buckingham (my fave) is playing the BASS guitar (in the background, left) on this one, which is rare!! He played the bass on a couple of songs via this special and this was one of them. As you know, (besides lead vocals) Lindsey played the bass guitar (for about four years) via his very first band ~ Fritz, which he formed in high school back in 1967. The number of walk-ins for HIV testing more than doubled in Detroit a day after local news reports appeared of a woman who falsely claimed over the Internet to have infected more than 500 people with the virus, city health officials said. Police said she admitted the story was a hoax. But as of 1 pm, 16 people had walked into the only city clinic where HIV testing is done and were tested, Michael McElrath, spokesman for the Detroit Department of Health and Wellness, told The Associated Press. The clinic is open Monday through Friday and typically gets seven walk-ins per day, he said. Because all information is confidential, people seeking testing were not required to say why or whether it was in response to the woman's claims. The woman identified herself Friday to The Detroit News as 23-year-old Jackie Braxton, mother of a 5-year-old daughter. The AP tried several times to reach her by phone Friday, but she did not answer and her voicemail box was full. "I don't have AIDS," Braxton told The Detroit News. "I made the tape because I wanted to raise awareness about AIDS." The gossip Web site mediatakeout.com was the first to report on the hoax and posted an 11-minute video of the woman that the site also put on YouTube. The Detroit News and other local media outlets then picked up on the story. Short video on the JFK assassination I found while looking through my old files. From Wikipedia: President Kennedy's last seconds traveling through Dealey Plaza were recorded on silent 8 mm film for the 26.6 seconds before, during, and immediately following the assassination. This famous film footage was taken by garment manufacturer and amateur cameraman Abraham Zapruder, in what became known as the Zapruder film. Frame enlargements from the Zapruder film were published by Life magazine shortly after the assassination. The footage was first shown publicly as a film at the trial of Clay Shaw in 1969, and on television in 1975. Zapruder was not the only one who photographed at least part of the assassination. A total of 32 photographers were in Dealey Plaza. Amateur movies taken by Orville Nix, Marie Muchmore (shown on television in New York on November 26, 1963),] and Charles Bronson (not the actor) captured the fatal shot, although at a greater distance than Zapruder. Other motion picture films were taken in Dealey Plaza at or around the time of the shooting by Robert Hughes, F. Kimberly Ruth Noyes, ...BC woman charged in autistic boy's death The woman charged with second-degree murder in the death of 12-year-old John David Fulton made a brief court appearance Thursday in Nelson, BC Kimberly Ruth Noyes, 42, was formally charged Wednesday with killing Fulton, who was autistic and whose body was found in her Grand Forks, BC, townhouse Aug. 17. Two days earlier, the boy had been reported suddenly missing from the front yard of his own home, two doors away from where his body was found. Noyes — her legs in chains and a coat pulled over her head — was led into the Nelson courthouse by two sheriffs. Noyes will be taken to a remand centre in Surrey that handles women prisoners, according to her lawyer, Ken Wyllie. Wyllie described her mental state as "frail" and said he could not comment on whether he believed she should undergo a psychiatric assessment. A former co-worker of Noyes told CBC News on Wednesday that the accused woman had undergone hospital treatment in the past for bipolar disorder. Noyes next scheduled court appearance is Sept. 2.
