Heres a virtual movie of William Barnes (1801 - 1886) Reading one of his rural Dialect poems from his home county of Doset southwest England. The poem was written around 1863. The Humstrum is a crude home made fiddle rather like a cigar box fiddle. William Barnes (22 February 1801 7 October 1886) was an English writer, poet, minister, and philologist. He wrote over 800 poems, some in Dorset dialect and much other work including a comprehensive English grammar quoting from more than 70 different languages. He was born at Rushay in the parish of Bagber, Dorset, the son of a farmer. After being a solicitor's clerk and for a while keeping a school at Mere in Wiltshire, he was ordained into the Church of England in 1847, taking a BD degree from St John's College, Cambridge, in 1851.[1] He served curacies at Whitcombe, Dorset, 1847-52, and again from 1862. Between 1860-62 he held a curacy at Rotherham in Yorkshire. He became rector of Winterborne Came with Winterbourne Farringdon, Dorset, from 1862-86. He first contributed the Dorset dialect poems for which he is best known to periodicals, including Macmillan's Magazine; a collection in book form Poems of Rural Life in the Dorset Dialect, was published in 1844. A second collection Hwomely Rhymes followed in 1858, and a third collection in 1863; a combined edition appeared in 1879. Well, here's the full version! All 1.15 of it.. Very simple story line - Sherlock and Dorian spot each other at a restaurant/party/thing where they have to wear suits. After their breif encounter, Holmes decides to go to the club to work off some of this anger by beating people up, as he does. As he's fighting, Henry and Dorian turn up. The pair lock eyes again. Desperate to know who the other man is, Dorian tracks him down - 221b Baker Street. Just as things start to get heated, Watson comes home. The two just manage to make themselves respectable as John enters, but he is suspicious. Holmes tries to calm him down and assure him that nothing is going on, but Dorian's cocky smirk gives the game away. From then on, Sherlock and Dorian engage in forbidden desires - sex, violence, drugs and the like - while John looks on helplessly. Eventually, he plucks up the courage to talk to Sherlock about it, but the two end up arguing and Watson storms out. Angry and in need of release, Sherlock goes to see Dorian. But has Dorian had a plan of his own the whole time...? Anyway, you've seen most of this. Hope you like it!
