Patrice Yvonne Holloway was born on March 23, 1951 in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of three children born to Wade Holloway, Sr. (August 13, 1920--June 24, 2001)[1] and his wife, the former Johnnie Mae Fossett.[2] Patrice is the younger sister of Motown artist Brenda Holloway. Holloway also had a contract with Motown, recording songs such as "The Touch of Venus" and "For the Love of Mike", none of which were released. She recorded a few minor singles for the Capitol Records label during the mid-1960s, notably "Love And Desire", "Ecstasy" and "Stolen Hours", which became popular on the Northern Soul scene in the 1970s. She sang background vocals with her sister on many records for other artists, including Joe Cocker and the Grease Band's 1968 cover version of The Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends", later the theme song to the 1980s television series The Wonder Years. Holloway is most noted for her work as the singing voice of Valerie in Hanna-Barbera's 1970 Josie and the Pussycats television series and on the concurrent Josie and the Pussycats album. Valerie was the first female African-American cartoon character to star as a television series regular, and was nearly cut from the show by Hanna-Barbera. Record producer Danny Janssen demanded that Holloway—and therefore Valerie—remain in the show, as he felt her voice was necessary to produce the Jackson 5-esque bubblegum pop that HB had requested he produce. After the first season of Josie, Holloway ...
Josie, in outer space. Pussycats are all in place. (ahhh) Blasting off on another chase. Mars, stars, the milky way, when they're groovin' who can say. Buckle up your seatbelts. They could be in orbit (in the stars). On a spooky planet (maybe Mars). There's no way of knowing when they're groovin' way above the atmosphere, trying to get back to here. They're blasting off now. Josie's on a rocket ride. Pussycats all by her side. Bleep Bleep is the kooky guide. Come along and dig the chase with the Pussycats in outer space. The Pussycats in outer space. (Yeah)

The second "Josie" show in 1972, now their in outer space.
Common in its unaltered form, though many prints still have the logo's Taft bylines blacked out. Currently seen on The Smurfs, Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show, season one of The Snorks, The Yogi Bear Show, Josie and the Pussy Cats, Josie and the Pussy Cats in Outer Space, Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, most 1982 episodes of Richie Rich, season two of Top Cat, and the 1984-1985 season of The Jetsons all on Boomerang. The HB Presents logo with the "Meet George Jetson" chimes is extremely rare and so far it has been spotted on The Jetsons episode A Jetson Christmas Carol Bylines: 1979-1981: A TAFT BROADCASTING COMPANY (in a white font) 1981-1986: A DIVISION OF THE TAFT ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY (In 1982, the byline was altered/amended with "A Division of" over "THE TAFT ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY". From 1983-1986, the byline appears in a large yellow font, and the logo appears smaller in this version.) Post-1988 prints of HB shows from this era often have the Taft byline blacked out. Special Movie Variant: Also, in 1990, a special version of this was used at the end of Jetsons: The Movie. That features the same animation but the name is now "Hanna-Barbera" in the familiar cursive "script" font, first introduced in 1988. This variant also features a Great American byline and is the only HB logo to do so. General Variants: In response to Filmation's "anklepants" opening logo, Hanna-Barbera responded with their own version. It's the same as the closing logo but it fades in ...
Josie e as Gatinhas (no original, Josie and the Pussycats) é uma série de desenhos animados produzida pela Hanna-Barbera, exibida em 1970 pelo canal estadunidense CBS. Essa primeira série conta com 16 episódios. Teve uma nova série em 1972-1974, conhecida no Brasil por Josie e as Gatinhas do Espaço (Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space).
Hitting on the heels of "Scooby Doo," a Saturday-morning cartoon started running featuring an all-girl group consisting of Josie (vocals/lead guitar), Valerie (vocals/tambourines) and Melody (percussion) who got into strange and wonderful adventures every week. Also included in the cast was their cowardly manager (Alexander), his evil twin sister (Alexandra) and roadie (Alan) who was clearly meant for Josie until Alexandra tried worming her way into the affair. Of note is the fact that this cartoon was the first time an African-American was a featured star in an ensemble cartoon. Also, for you trivia buffs - the role of the drummer Melody was voiced by Cheryl Ladd, who later achieved bigger fame as "Kris Munroe" on "Charlie's Angels." For real!

Josie and the Pussycats was an American animated television series produced for Saturday morning television by Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1970 for CBS. In 1972, Hanna-Barbera produced a spin-off called Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space, which ran until 1974. Based upon the Archie Comics series of the same name created by Dan DeCarlo, Josie and the Pussycats featured an all-girl pop music band that toured the world with their entourage, getting mixed up in strange adventures, spy capers, and mysteries. The show, more similar to Hanna-Barbera's Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! rather than the original Josie comic book, is famous for its music, the girls' leopard print leotards (replete with "long tails and ears for hats," as the theme song states), and for featuring the first regularly appearing black character in a Saturday morning cartoon show.
Some time in the very distant future, the planet Earth was so polluted and became unfit for human habitation. Mutant viruses appeared that multiplied rapidly and became highly resistant to modern medicines. The air anywhere you go became very itchy and irritating to the nose and made people sneeze every minute or two. The seas and rivers were full of all sorts of garbage that the most advanced technology couldn't rehabilitate and clean drinking water became very scarce. The burning heat of the sun that passed through the ozone layer caused severe damage to the skin while picnic, mountain climbing, beach volleyball, and all outdoor fun activities became impossible. Global warming caused harsh climate and extreme weather changes that humans could no longer endure. Few surviving humans decided to leave the planet and the best that their latest technology could do was to make spaceships that could take them to the outer space and search for another livable planet in another galaxy far, far away. Thousands of years after the exodus of humans, trees and all forms of vegetation began to grow again. The most beautiful planet in the whole universe is back minus the humans. The nuclear waste and the garbage that were left behind evolved into new life forms. One of these lived in an isolated group of islands or archipelago around the outskirts of the Pacific Ocean. The new creatures known as the Tidlings lived underground through Tidy holes around Tidy Valley surrounded by Chocolate ...
