Joyous Celebration 5 has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
A night of passion, reminiscing and joy was what the dinner entailed. All of the Travco Group family including partners, ministers, employees and friends attended this joyful event, congratulating Mr. Hamed El Chiaty and his family for the success and achievements over the past three decades, celebrating this memorable milestone, and enjoying a night of pure bliss and festivities. The oriental theme of the event signified the heritage of the company. All attendees were in awe of how meticulously and symbolically each piece of decoration was selected, highlighting the true origin of Travco Group. The celebration began with a champagne reception welcoming invitees to the joyous event, after which everyone was seated on their dinner tables awaiting the night to commence. Dr. Ezzat Abu Ouf, Artist, Musician and dear friend of the family, inaugurated the dinner by narrating the Travco Group timeline, followed by a speech by Minister of Tourism Mr. Zuhair Garranah, where he highlighted how the company has played a significant role in boosting tourism in Egypt over the years. Mrs. Amani El Torgoman, General Manager and Director of Operations at Travco Group, and also one of the oldest employees at the company, gave a very unique and emotional speech saying "I would like to take this opportunity to speak about Mr. Chiaty on behalf of the Travco family. He is a true leader because he is more than just the Chairman of our company; he is a teacher, a friend and an inspiration to ...
SPIRITUAL PREPARATION FOR WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO by Dr. Harold Sala Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." Joshua 3:5 There's a bit of doggerel which says, "Three moves are as good as a fire," and anyone who has packed his possessions more than twice in a given year mumbles to himself, saying things such as, "What in the world am I keeping this for?" Nonetheless, you keep that old stuff--just in case you might need it some day. It's a very good thing that shrouds have no pockets and hearses are not followed by trailers or vans, because, like the Egyptians who buried their dead along with possessions for the afterlife, if we could, we'd try to take it all with us. I've been pondering the lost significance of crossing the Jordan when the vast army of men and women, toughened by the blistering heat and burning sands of the Negev, were finally positioned on the east side of the Jordan, looking across the narrow ribbon of muddy water separating them from Canaan. You can read about this in Joshua 3 and 4 in your Old Testament. Joshua--the one who had succeeded Moses--told them, "Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River." Three days later, the hour of march came. On the eve of that momentous day, Joshua gave them further directions: "Consecrate yourselves," he said, "for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you" (Joshua 3:5). It's true that from generation to generation, the ...
ENTERING THE PROMISED LAND by Dr. Harold Sala But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. Deuteronomy 11:11 For over 200 years believers the world over have sung the words of Samuel Stennett, who in 1787 wrote about standing on Jordan's stormy banks and casting a wistful eye "to Canaan's fair and happy land," a land of milk and honey, a place of perpetual blessing. We've stopped singing about the Jordan, and we've also lost an understanding of what it means spiritually to cross your Jordan and to possess the inheritance God has given you through His Son, Jesus Christ. Let's back up for a better look at this whole Jordan experience. For some 430 years, following Joseph's being sold into slavery in Egypt, God's people were slaves to the Egyptians. Finally, the cries of His people reached the throne room of heaven and God said, "Enough!" and commissioned Moses, a reluctant leader if ever there was one, to become the emancipator. Within a very few days, God rolled back the waters of the Red Sea and led them to Arad--within easy striking distance of Canaan. While Moses took them out of Egypt in only a few days or months, it took 40 years for God to get Egypt out of their hearts. But finally that was accomplished. Crossing the Jordan--much like believing in Jesus Christ today--was the end of their troubles and the beginning of a life of bliss, right? Dead wrong! But there are some parallels for ...
Esther 8 (New International Version) Esther 8 The King's Edict in Behalf of the Jews 1 That same day King Xerxes gave Queen Esther the estate of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. And Mordecai came into the presence of the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her. 2 The king took off his signet ring, which he had reclaimed from Haman, and presented it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed him over Haman's estate. 3 Esther again pleaded with the king, falling at his feet and weeping. She begged him to put an end to the evil plan of Haman the Agagite, which he had devised against the Jews. 4 Then the king extended the gold scepter to Esther and she arose and stood before him. 5 "If it pleases the king," she said, "and if he regards me with favor and thinks it the right thing to do, and if he is pleased with me, let an order be written overruling the dispatches that Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, devised and wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king's provinces. 6 For how can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I bear to see the destruction of my family?" 7 King Xerxes replied to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, "Because Haman attacked the Jews, I have given his estate to Esther, and they have hanged him on the gallows. 8 Now write another decree in the king's name in behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal it with the king's signet ring—for no document written in the king's name and sealed with his ring can be revoked." 9 At once the ...

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada have drawn to a close. As always there's plenty to look back on. The Olympics are always a time for celebration. This time, they started with tragedy. The death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvilli brought a cloud of sadness over the otherwise joyous Opening Cermonies at BC Place Olympic Stadium. It also raised questions about the super-fast luge track at Whistler. The Georgian athletes honored their fallen comrade at the Opening Ceremony. We all wondered in how many events Lindsey Vonn would compete in on the heels of her shin injury. (interesting word choice using heels and shin in one sentence) She was scheduled for 5 events and would compete in 5 events. Even though in 3 of them she didn't finish. Vonn came away from Vonn-couver with one gold and one bronze. Short track star Apolo Ohno sewed up his legacy as the greatest Winter Olympian history with his 7th and 8th gold medals. Will Ohno return in 2014 for the Sochi Olympics? We already knew the name Shaun White from the Winter X Games. They've essentially become a subsection of the Winter Olympics. His gold medal in the men's halfpipe is sure to put his star status on the rise even more. A not so ballyhooed story of these games was that of Bode Miller. After his debacle in Torino, he won a medal of every color in 2010. One thing that was looked at was the Canadians lack of success when it came to winning gold on home soil. They won none at Montreal 1976 or ...

BRIAN BROMBERG IT IS WHAT IT IS I write the way I write. I play the way I play. Theres nothing I can do about it! Acclaimed bassist and producer Brian Bromberg has garnered a hard-earned reputation as one of the most versatile and respected players in music, amassing an enviable catalog of straight ahead and contemporary jazz showcasing both upright and electric basses. Confounding the music industry with a string of innovative, eclectic releases since 1985, Bromberg has spent the last decade recording projects driven by very specific sounds and themes from Wood (acoustic bass) and Metal (electric bass) to other diverse projects celebrating the artistry of fretless bass pioneer Jaco Pastorious (Jaco) and his Grammy®-nominated smooth grooves of Downright Upright. On his fourth project for the Mack Avenue label imprint Artistry Music, Brian unleashes another wide palette of styles letting the chips fall where they may. Its a decidedly funky 13-track set that features a killer horn section and includes not only evocative original compositions but also two cover songs that are sure to raise some eyebrows: The B-52s new wave dance classic Love Shack and Quincy Jones instantly recognizable TV-Land nugget Sanford & Son Theme (The Streetbeater). An A-list of musical peers join the fun including George Duke, Patrice Rushen, Jeff Lorber, Randy Brecker, Eric Marienthal, Gerald Albright, Richard Elliot, Rick Braun, Will Kennedy, Dave Weckl, Alex Acuña, Paul Jackson Jr., Dan Siegel ...

Lopuksi toivotetaan kaupungin kaikille asukkaille riemullista joulujuhlaa. Joulurauha julistetaan Turussa jouluaattona kello 12. Julistuksen lukee Brinkkalan talon parvekkeelta Vanhalta Suurtorilta kaupungin kansliapäällikkö. Joulurauhanjulistus on radioitu vuodesta 1935, televisioitu vuodesta 1983. The Declaration of Christmas Peace in Turku Christmas City of Finland: Tomorrow, God willing, is the graceful celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour; and thus is declared a peaceful Christmas time to all, by advising devotion and to behave otherwise quietly and peacefully, because he who breaks this peace and violates the peace of Christmas by any illegal or improper behaviour shall under aggravating circumstances be guilty and punished according to what ...
Conducted by Dr. Jamie Spillane, the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra presented their sixth annual Messiah Sing on December 12, 2009 at the newly renovated Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel Auditorium. This is an amazing musical experience to behold because the AUDIENCE IS THE SHOW! Professional musicians/singers, novice level singers, and spectators gathered from several towns in Iowa to share in the enjoyment of George Frederick Handels The Messiah. There are no practices—people just show up and can sit with other people who share the same singing part, or they can sit with friends. Usually though, most of the singers sit downstairs according to the suggested chart, (for more efficient cues from the director for music entrances) and the spectators sit upstairs. Women in fur coats, men in tuxedoes, teenagers in denim jeans, elderly people, and children came for this joyous occasion. The preparation for Eidil Fitri begins during Ramadan. Women are busy sewing beautiful new curtains and buy new clothes for the whole family. In addition, 5 days before Hari Raya Puasa, the women will start baking cakes like marble cake and cake lapis (layered butter and chocolate cake) and traditional Malay delicacies like kueh makmur , a rich baked pastry filled with roasted peanuts or almonds mixed with sugar and formed into a leaf shape, kueh tart (pineapple tarts), kueh bangkit (cookies made of tapioca flour) and many more. Some families re-decorate their homes in preparation to receive all the guests who will visit them during the festival. Most families also decorate their houses with glittering lights on their windows, or around the yards of their houses. Some Muslim families light oil lamps to welcome the angels which are believed to be visiting the earth during the seven days preceding the festival. Hari Raya Puasa Eidil Fitri, or Hari Raya Puasa as it is known in Singapore , is one of the highlights of the Muslim cultural and religious calendar. It is celebrated at the end of the fasting month, when the new moon is sighted. The Malay words Hari Raya' translate as 'Day of Celebration' or the Festival of Breaking the Fast'. Many non-Muslims confuse Hari Raya Puasa with the Muslim New Year. The celebrations begin with the birth of the new moon of Syawal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims usually attend Eid prayers in the mosque in the morning. This ...
Dance therapy - LYRICS: Arriving in the dance hall. Above, beneath and around my skin - the movement within + the music without. Flow. Flowing with the barefoot sounds of the beating drums. Flowing with the runaway flutes. Arms wave. Waves Armed. Waving from the shoulder to the finger tips. Pulsating with the drums, flowing with the bass. Spine now slowly wakes to the sounds, to the sounds of joy flowing through my arms. Feeling the music deep in my chest, my spine creeps around, circling itself while my back tries to keep up. Not to be left behind, a snakey shakey force enters my hips, twisting them slowly, opposing the spinal movement in a teasing and respectful flow. The feet and my head have now picked up a background wail of another voice. They dance together, moving to the guidance of that soulfully long sound. Breath flows through to all the new spaces made in my neck and feet. Hips and thighs rejoicing with a rush of oxygen and life force, celebrating to the music. Stress flows away, dances away, melts away. Snapping Unhooking Unlatching These sore joints of mine quickly and easily open up, becoming vulnerable to these faraway voices, teasing the stiffness out. My body in child like anticipation for the freedom to come, the freedom of movement The unhindered breath and joy rushing through my veins, a few moments ahead of my vibrating pulse. Smiling eyes, laughing cheeks, mischievous lips all join the joy. Breathe deeper and wider. Sweat now forming small dew drops ...

if you like a New Year's party, Thailand is the place for you. Samui's people are blessed with no less than three annual opportunities to Celebrate new year with their friends on January 1st, with their Chinese friends in early February, and on April 13, which has for centuries marked the first day of of the traditional Thai solar calendar. This last celebration is called Songkran, and it is one of the most joyous occasions in The Kingdom. The word Songkran comes from the Sanskrit words for "New Year", and the Thai celebration was probably imported with major aspects of Indian culture over 2500 years ago. Songkran in Thailand is a holiday primarily dedicated to the family, and tourists may notice a much slimmer staff manning the restaurants and hotels as every employee who is able goes home to spend the day with his or her relatives. Back in the provinces huge meals are pre-pared, homes are fastidiously cleaned, and sacred altars and images respectfully washed. Family members who are scattered for the rest of the year by employment or marriage come together to renew their bonds and exchange gossip. Perhaps the most lovely rite associated with Songkran is the wai khon gaa ceremony, where whole neighborhoods will line up to pour water over the hands of the community's two oldest members, giving and receiving blessings for the coming year.
Unofficially, it's called The Embarrassment. There aren't any books about it. No one issued any cards to commemorate it. In fact, you can barely find any record of it. It was the best of three 1979 Challenge Cup series between a team of NHL All-Stars and the Soviet National team. The international showdown preempted the NHL's regularly scheduled 1978-79 All-Star Game. The Challenge Cup was billed rightfully as the ultimate showdown. The NHL drew on its finest talent - whether Americans, Canadians or Swedes - for the unprecedented confrontation against hockey's version of the Big Red Machine. The league iced an incredible array of talent - Mike Bossy, Guy Lafleur, Gilbert Perreault, Bryan Trottier, Larry Robinson, Bobby Clarke, Bob Gainey, Denis Potvin, Darryl Sittler, and Serge Savard, to mention a few. Who could've imagined this Hall of Fame collection of talent would come up empty? The Soviets meanwhile were unknown to most hockey fans. Still the line-up included Hall f Fame goaltender Vladislav Tretiak, right-winger Boris Mikhailov, Valery Kharlamov, and Vladimir Petrov. Future NHLers, Sergei Makarov and defenseman Vyacheslav Fetisov also manned the Soviet squad. Makarov contributed a goal and two assisted in the three games, while an injury forced Fetisov to sit out. Sure, the Soviets were talented, but no one expected the NHL to lose. Instead of celebrating a decisive victory and winning global bragging rights, the NHL'ers wrung their hands as they watched the ...

ANCHOR: There's over 5000 international visitors mingling with local Christians in Brisbane today. They are celebrating their faith ahead of their trip to Sydney for world youth day next Sunday. There's a special incentive for many as the Pope will also be in Sydney. STORY: 5 Christian Churches in Brisbane were full to overflowing this morning. Young Pilgrims from all over the world attended prayer services ahead of a joyous parade to Roma Street Parklands. The crowd swelled as the parade passed by each church. Groups managed to stay together by dressing alike and sang and chatted happily as they walked. A special walk honoring christian saints meandered through the park. Pilgrims express their feelings on the occasion. [Father Gino, Canadian Pilgrim Leader]: "...communicating, and there is a spirit of joy and togetherness that was just really uplifting." [Pilgrim from Texas, USA]: "Well it is a great opportunity for us to bond with other fellow christians and catholics, people that we...I know we have a spiritual bond with." [NTD Reporter]: "...so you've come all this way to see the Pope?" [Father Lawrence, Canadian Pilgrim Leader]: " Oh yes, I am quite excited to see the Pope." This group from France just wanted to break out into song. [French Pilgrim Group Singing in French]: The Parkland was laid out with entertainment of every kind for all to enjoy and many were fascinated with Australian animals.

University of Washington's winter quarter gospel choir performs "I Will Sing Praises", by someone I can't find. Sigh. We only meet once a week, from 5:30 to 7PM, and Professor Byrdwell hands out the lyrics then sings our parts to us -- and that's the learning process! Also, I (the one on the left) should never be allowed a microphone.
Marvel as they climb up one key after the next. A beautiful rendition of this song. Look out for Richard Smallwood's version with his Vision Choir which is also very powerful. Enjoy! The DVD can be purchased @ www.musica.co.za
Teen remembered for her love of life She was the beloved baby of the Coffey family of Santa Rosa, whose heart condition never overwhelmed her zest for life. Seventeen-year-old Alexa Coffey collapsed last Wednesday while baby-sitting her nephew. She was rushed to Kaiser, then transferred to UC Medical Center in San Francisco where she died Friday. She was a girl with a private interior and a joyous exterior, her family said. Alexa Coffey spent every minute of her 17 years quietly rising above a serious heart condition, striving to do all the normal kid things she could, including playing basketball and soccer and dancing to her favorite tunes. "She had two open heart surgeries before she was 2; another when she was 6½. I think after that, fears set in as she became more aware," said her mother, Judy Coffey, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser in Sonoma and Marin counties. "But she always had a grin, ear to ear. She was always the life of the party." Born Sept. 13, 1989, in Santa Rosa to Judy and Harry Coffey, Alexa attended College Oak Montesorri, Riebli and San Miguel elementary schools, Rincon Valley Middle School and would have been a senior at Maria Carrillo when classes resume Wednesday. "I was 11 when Alexa was born," said her sister, Lacey Currie of Petaluma. "When I was in high school at Ursuline, she was going through a lot and I took her with me everywhere. She came to friends' houses and to parties." The petite, 90-pound teen was known as a high ...

Please keep in mind the Catholic who is singing the lead does not believe in contraception... and neither do his many, many children, who are singing the backup. And yes, that IS a Chinese dragon in the background of the finale. How it got there... don't ask, don't tell.
