A wonderful jazz standard recorded by Nat on June 30, 1958 with the Count Basie Orchestra and an arrangement by Dave Cavanaugh. Basie relinquished the piano chair to Gerald Wiggins in order to avoid violating a recording contract with another company, but the Basie "sound" is still there.

I have always liked his music and throughout the years I felt a lot of sympathy for this often misunderstood man. I had bought tickets for his "This is it" concerts in London and it aches to know that he won't be able to show the world that he still had it. This is my simple tribute to the one and the only "King of Pop", Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson will always be part of my childhood memories. "Ben" was the very first song that I learned to sing when I was still a child. His iconic dance moves will always be replicated but will never be equalled. His very untimely passing has put a great loss in the music industry and has left a big hole in the hearts of his countless adoring fans, including me. With so much fame, comes so much pain... MJ had his ups and downs but he will always remain the incomparable "King of Pop" not only of his generation but of all time! My sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP Michael Jackson Song: Beat It On the morning of June 25, 2009, Jackson reportedly collapsed at a home he was renting in west Los Angeles. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a 911 call at 12:21 pm local (Pacific) time and arrived at 12:30 pm. Jackson was reportedly not breathing and CPR was quickly performed. He fell into a coma and died shortly after being rushed to UCLA Medical Center. The cause of death is reported to be cardiac arrest. Jackson was pronounced dead at about 2:26 pm local time. Although there is no evidence of criminality, Los Angeles Police Department detectives have opened an investigation into his death. An autopsy is said to be scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2009.
RIP IZ THE WIZ. Michael "Iz the Wiz" Martin was one of the most prominent graffiti writers of the New York graffiti movement of the late 70's and early 80's. Iz was from the New York borough of Queens. Beginning in 1972, he became a long reigning All-City king of New York known primarily for his quick, simple two letter tag, Iz represented a new breed of fame-obsessed writers concerned with finding the perfect balance between quantity and quality. He was also featured in the 1983 documentary Style Wars. From years of using toxic aerosol products without any type of protective mask, Iz was diagnosed with kidney failure in 1996. In early 2000, in an interview for Style Wars revisited, he commented that he would give up all his past fame for full health. In August of 2003 he held a gallery showcasing his legal artwork in New York. IZ also had his art cameoed in the game: Marc Ecko's Getting Up.
