lbnnews.com If two US Supreme Court vacancies materialize this spring, they may have the same impact on the nation's capital that two heavy snowfalls have had this month gridlock, paralysis and frayed tempers. Stories raising the possibility that justices John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsburg may leave at roughly the same time have suddenly become part of the Washington conversation, already fueling nightmare scenarios of dragged-out battles between a weakened President Barack Obama and a fiercely contentious Senate over possible replacements. "Republicans are out for blood, and Democrats are out for a fight," said Steve Wermiel, professor at American University Washington College of Law. "We're close to a peak of partisan wrangling in Washington." Speculation about potential nominees has already begun, with Solicitor General Elena Kagan and Judge Merrick Garland of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit winning the most mentions at this early stage. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also the subject of growing speculation as a possible nominee. That said, many Court-watchers still don't believe two concurrent vacancies are likely. "There's a very express consensus within the Court that two vacancies not occur simultaneously, barring a medical tragedy," said David Garrow, a high court scholar and senior research fellow at the University of Cambridge. "And there's no new evidence that Justice Ginsburg is at all considering departing."
www.infowars.com Cass Sunstein, president Obamas appointee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and the man who outlined a plan for the government to infiltrate conspiracy groups in order to undermine them, is in direct line for a promotion to Supreme Court Justice. Sunstein, already in an advanced position of power in the White House as Regulatory czar, has already called for strict restrictions on gun ownership, an internet Fairness Doctrine, and an effective ban on free speech where dissenting opinions to those of the government are expressed. Sunteins name was on various shortlists to replace Justice David Souter last year following his retirement, and prior to the appointment of Sonia Sotomayor. Sunsteins name was also touted for the Supreme Court before Obama even took office in November 2008. His close personal relationship with Obama should set alarm bells ringing for anyone who values the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, particularly as Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, now aged 75, is likely to take retirement soon following illness, and with Justice John Paul Stevens now aged 90. Sunstein and Obama go way back from their faculty days at the University of Chicago law school and are firm friends. Sunstein worked as an advisor to Obama during his presidential campaign and was drafted into the White House soon after Obama won the election. As Obamas Information Czar, Sunstein effectively interprets the law for the Executive. Sunstein operates in ...

Pro-Life advocates are taking Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg to task for her recent abortion comments that appear to support eugenics. www.lifenews.com The Last Days has posted a very intriguing look at the population control and eugenics agenda of the global elite. signsofthelastdays.com Now, taking into account that the Bible clearly tells us that the Devil is the one who comes to "steal, kill, and destroy", and taking into account that most of the murders (abortions) being committed are for purely selfish reasons, we can go on to say most certainly that those who are supporting abortion are supporting an act that is clearly antichrist. That those who are saying that abortions are a good thing, are children of their father Satan, and that they are doing the works of their father in supporting and performing those murders (abortions). Don't believe abortion is murder? Why? Is it because you believe that when you are in the womb you're not a human being? Then, if you aren't, what are you? A head of cabbage? A pigeon? A goat? A cow? Seriously, if you're not a human being in the womb, then tell me, when do you magically become one? Because the Bible shows us that we are human beings, from the moment we are conceived, in the eyes of God. So what can I say about people, who are like that, who don't believe the truth? "Why do you not understand my speech? even because you cannot hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a ...

This video was about treating then Judge John Roberts in a fair way. In the same standard Democrats demanded and received for their nominee to the US Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Naturally America was NOT allowed the same standard when it came to President Bush's nominee. This is aired today because of President Obama's appointment of a new justice designate. Watch history repeat itself.
May 26, 2009 - WASHINGTON President Barack Obama chose federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor to become the nation's first Hispanic Supreme Court justice on Tuesday, praising her as "an inspiring woman" with both the intellect and compassion to interpret the Constitution wisely. Obama said Sotomayor has more experience as a judge than any current member of the high court had when nominated, adding she has earned the "respect of colleagues on the bench, the admiration of many lawyers who argue cases in her court and the adoration of her clerks, who look to her as a mentor." Standing next to Obama at the White House, Sotomayor recalled a childhood spent in a housing project in the Bronx as well as her upper-echelon legal career: "I strive never to forget the real world consequences of my decisions on individuals, businesses and government." Barring the unexpected, Senate confirmation seems likely, given the large Democratic majority. If approved, she would join Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg as the second woman on the current court, the third in history. She would succeed retiring Justice David Souter. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., issued a statement saying he looked forward "to working with both Democrats and Republicans on the Judiciary Committee to confirm Judge Sotomayor as the first Hispanic and the third woman to sit on the court." Senate Republicans pledged to give her a fair hearing, and some questioned whether she would base decisions on her personal ...
