Work Samples Project 1: Suggestion System In my final year of engineering, I worked on a Web based Suggestion Management System for Larsen and Toubro Infotech, a leading Indian multinational software solutions provider. The project successfully implemented web based management of suggestions. The same system could be used by a number of organizations such as Enterprises, Libraries, and Hospitals etc. The scope for usage revolved around three roles: Users, Approvers and Administrators, with custom user interfaces for each of these roles. The User could write and submit suggestions and monitor its current status at any point of time. These suggestions are sent to the concerned Approver, with an Approver for each type of classification, the classification was carried out by the algorithm. The Approvers then had the authority to Approve or 'Reject' the suggestions. To ensure that none of the suggestions go unanswered, the algorithm redirected the unanswered and ambiguous suggestions to the Administrator. The project needed a simple model so that the complexities of the system do not drive away a potential user and also to encourage them to shift from the traditional model to this new paradigm. The design concentrated on making the application as generic as possible so that the model could fit into any organizations structure. Thus the requirement and design phase involved study of various kinds of organizational hierarchy and thus I gained insight into the roles stakeholders ...
