BREAKING NEWS! Oath Keepers Proves That There WERE Troops Who Refused to Confiscate Guns During Katrina OATH KEEPERS EXCLUSIVE We know that wholesale gun confiscation happened during Hurricane Katrina. We watched the Chief of Police of New Orleans declare on national television that no one [no private citizen] will be able to be armed, were going to take all the weapons. We watched an old lady being tackled in her own kitchen and disarmed. In fact, that atrocious event was one of the reasons I started Oath Keepers. But I also knew, from my service as an Army paratrooper, that there are men of courage, honor, and integrity in the military who would refuse to obey such orders. My goal with Oath Keepers is simply to increase their numbers and harden their resolve. But when it came to Katrina, we did not have concrete proof that some said no until now. A Stand-Up Example from Katrina Emerges This past week, on Friday May 14, 2010, I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Sgt. Joshua L. May of the Utah National Guard who told me how he, along with the majority of the men in his unit, refused to participate in any gun confiscation while deployed to assist during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I finally discovered Sgt. May and his story only because after a speech I gave in Logan Utah on May 13, 2010, a local resident, Farley Anderson, walked up and told me about what Sgt. May had done. Upon hearing of it, I knew I just had to talk to him, so I had Mr. Anderson track down Sgt ...

Katrina Kaif Performance @ Superstars Ka Jalwa Episode 5
The house was a mess. It literally hasn't been touched since Katrina - 5 FREAKING YEARS! We all had masks/respirators on because of how moldy and disgusting it was. There was still food in the fridge, all at the bottom and sledge-y like. The community was really curious and would come up and talk to us asking what we were doing, how the inside was etc. -- that's when we heard Patsy's story. And FYI the white powder is sugar from Cafe du Monde. One more day of work to go - we should have it knocked out by noon today.

Ride Hamilton shows the FIFTH intense video excerpt from his in-progress Hurricane Katrina Documentary. The only tapestry of stories filmed LIVE as it was and STILL IS happening. It covers in tragic, emotional, and honest detail - everyday of the storm from DAY ONE to TODAY. THIS PODCAST: We see the flooded neighborhoods of New Orleans as they sit for weeks and even months. Cars and houses emerge from the oily brown waters like ghosts or monuments as the flood slowly drains away. Then in late October, the 9th Ward is closed off to residents, and they are forced to ride buses on a pre-destined route just to see the remnants of their neighborhoods, many not being able to even see their homes. In lesser destroyed areas, with fewer dead bodies, though still a 99.9% loss - some residents, Black and White - are allowed to gather the few belongings they can fight from the mud. We realize, nearly every single neighborhood, in nearly every single city, in nearly every single region Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit, is wiped out. Of these, we explore Plaquemines, Arabi, Lakeview, Gentilly, and of course the 9th Ward. Families such as the St. Maries, are forced to paint their names and address on their two-story house, now one-story, when it ends up blocks away and in the middle of a four-lane highway. This is so insurance and other agents can identify the house, and in weeks, bull-doze it and haul it away to the massive debris mountains growing everywhere. 9th Ward residents start ...
This is a quick 5 minute video that encompasses all of Katrina, from the beginning to the aftermath. It's a good preview of my other videos and it'll give you an idea of what it's like to document a hurricane. I'm going to do longer videos of each section later so you can see more of what it was like.
New Orleans After Hurricane Katrina #5 West End November 12, 2005 With the two year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina coming on August 29, 2007, I decided to post a few video clips of our area after the storm. This is the #5 of 10 in the series. A very popular place to dine was West End Park. The many seafood restaurants were built on pilings over Lake Pontchartrain. They drew crowds every night. They are now gone. Video 6: www.youtube.com
This is the 5th clip of The Weather Channel's Hurricane Katrina coverage recorded in Gulfport, MS. Sunday morning 8/28/05!
Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's "Countdown" gives an editorial on the Bush Administation's botched response to the Katrina disaster. From September 5, 2005. This predated Keith's first "official" Special Comment by a year. One of Keith's most compelling moments. The picture quality on this is far better than other versions on YouTube.
I obtained this never before seen exclusive video from a co-worker who told me I could "do whatever I want with it". What many people don't seem to comprehend about Hurricane Katrina is that the NORTHEAST QUADRANT (the strongest part of any hurricane) hit the MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST and not New Orleans. The 35-40 foot Cat. 5 TIDAL SURGE destroyed roughly 90 miles of the Mississippi Gulf Coast line extending a mile or so inland along that 90 miles and even as far as 10 miles inland in Hancock County. It wasn't so much the wind damage as it was that basically a giant Cat. 5 TSUNAMI destroyed the Ms. Gulf Coast.....
This was how I spent Thanksgiving 2005. It was truely an awesome experience. The Rainbow Emergency Management Assembly gathered in Waveland Missahippie within days of the hurricane disaster, to feed people. They have receieved nothing but love and support from FEMA, Red Cross, numerous Church groups and Hancock County. It is said that before Katrina hippies would refer to Mississippi as MissAHippie because a hippie could easily go "missing" in Mississippi. Now Missahippie has a whole new meaning. The story of Waveland is that of people putting aside petty differences to do what's right and needed by our community of man. This feabile attempt to tell an amazing tale of cross cultural volunteerism features: Vermin Supreme, Dirty Momma, Heather Bee, Pete Jones, Ben Cauldwell, Doc Stone, Organic Valley, the residents of Waveland Mississippi ... and Flower The New Waveland Cafe is now closed. The parade was the official end of the facility, which was disbanded because the community now has several restraunts and stores open. A splinter group is setting up in St Bernard Parish. More to come about Emergency Communities ...
Filmed during the month of December 2005: Nearly 5 months after Katrina, the animal rescue efforts continue, volunteers are still arriving. These volunteers have traveled from all over the world, enduring extreme heat and humidity, living in primitive conditions, traveling at their own expense, leaving jobs and family to help us. These are the angels, animal guardian angels, who are responsible for saving the lives of thousands of animals. Thank you, and thanks to those, unable to travel here, who have contributed to our efforts with donations, much needed encouragement and prayers. We could not have done it without you. I thank you on behalf of all the peaceful animals, the silent ones who had no choice and were left behind.
this is a video I shot down in new orleans documenting the destruction in the gulf area from hurricane katrina. this was shot just 5 months after katrina struck.
