15th annual KCA 2002 Date: April 20, 2002
Our band is working on this song right now. Since it's difficult to get together all the time to practice, I thought this would be a cool way to send to the other guitar player in order to practice or follow up with ideas how to approach or change this song. Dickey Betts has a lesson video here on youtube that shows him breaking down the "Jessica" harmony solos. I think it's his live version of the song since I can't find his "harmony" solo in the original recording. My guitar parts in this video are the Duane Betts upper harmony parts to Dickey's main melody riff and ending middle solo. I probably should have slowed down the "Falling Leaves" triplet ending prior to moving into the ending chorus riff up to the ending of the song. Maybe in a few weeks. This is an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top in Honey Burst finish. Pickups are Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers, but I've polished up a bit with some automotive metal polish wadding. The pickups are shiny only because I've made them look that way. I thought polished looked a little better next to my newer looking guitar. .022 mfd Bumble Bee tonecapacitors too (both tone caps have the same value). Amplifier is a 2002 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe LTD blonde tolex amp using KCA NOS tubes in order to get a better Drive/More Drive tone. No other effects were used in this clip, just the "More Drive" amp channel set at about #10 gain. Guitar cable is a Fender Oxblood tweed cable, not the best but I normally use Monster Pro cables.

While Leigh was visiting the an AIDS Research Clinic in Mombasa, a woman named Anne walked in to the clinic, desperate to obtain the anti-retroviral drugs her three-year-old son Brine needed to survive. Leigh was so moved by this woman and her courage that she decided to pay for her son's AIDS treatment. What started as a very personal incident between two mothers has become a tremendous initiative for change. Amanda Laura Bynes was born on April 3, 1986, in Thousand Oaks, California. To close 2007 Avril won 2 World Music Awards, thanks to her multiplatinum album 'The Best Damn Thing'.
