November 23, 1991 www.amazon.com Watch the full lecture: thefilmarchived.blogspot.com The peace process in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has taken shape over the years, despite the ongoing violence in the Middle East and an "all or nothing" attitude about a lasting peace, "which prevailed for most of the twentieth century." Since the 1970s there has been a parallel effort made to find terms upon which peace can be agreed to in both the Arab-Israeli conflict and in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Some countries have signed peace treaties, such as the EgyptIsrael (1979) and Jordan-Israel (1994) treaties, whereas some have not yet found a mutual basis to do so. Palestinians have held diverse views and perceptions of the peace process. A key starting point for understanding these views is an awareness of the differing objectives sought by advocates of the Palestinian cause. 'New Historian' Israeli academic Ilan Pappe says the cause of the conflict from a Palestinian point of view dates back to 1948 with the creation of Israel (rather than Israels views of 1967 being the crucial point and the return of occupied territories being central to peace negotiations), and that the conflict has been a fight to bring home refugees to a Palestinian state. Therefore this for some was the ultimate aim of the peace process and for groups such as Hamas still is. However Slater says that this maximalist view of a destruction of Israel in order to regain Palestinian lands, a view held by ...
Zionists operated the concentration camps and helped murder millions of innocent Jews - source: youtube.com More true history exposed. The word Nazi is a combination between the National Socialist Party and the Zionist Party. Na Zi The same people are running Israel now and trying to start a war with Iran. Please see my previous upload where it was infact Adolf Hitler who infact founded Israel- www.youtube.com (again that Video is not available in Germany) I PAID HITLER — Fritz Thyssen — Farrar & Rinehart It has often been rumored that Hitler is partly Jewish. Thyssen gives plausible reasons for believing that, if Hitler does have Jewish blood, it comes from a distinguished family: "According to the published records, Hitler's grandmother had an illegitimate son, and this son was to become the father of Germany's present leader. But an inquiry once ordered by the late Austrian chancellor, Engelbert Dollfuss, disclosed that the Fuhrer's grandmother became pregnant during her employment as a servant in a Viennese family. . . . And the family . . . was none other than that of Baron Rothschild." Of course, no matter where she was employed, any plowboy might have fathered Hitler's grandmother's son. But Thyssen says that Hitler's spies told him of the existence of the document, that it was probably a factor in Dollfuss' assassination, that Hitler later wrested it from Schuschnigg. Thyssen also heard that a copy of it was "in the hands of the British Secret Service." Another ...
English Trailer www.beetz-brothers.de A film by Marc Eberle 75/52/45 min., NDR/arte/WDR Developed within the framework of Discovery Campus Masterschool 2003 Funded by the Filmförderung HHSH, Filmstiftung NRW, MEDIA NEW TALENTS and MEDIA BROADCAST The Vietnam War was the most intensely televised war ever. However, next door in neighboring Laos, the longest and largest air war in human history was underway, which eventually made Laos the most bombed country on earth. The Secret War was the largest operation ever conducted by the CIA, yet to this day, hardly anyone knows anything about it. Critics call it the biggest war crime of the Vietnam War era and point to striking similarities to the present conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan; similarities that were tested and set in motion back in Laos in the 1960s. In The Most Secret Place On Earth, key players of the Secret War-- former CIA agents, American pilots, Laotian fighters and war reporters -- take us on a journey into the physical heart of the conflict: Top secret Long Cheng, where the CIA built its headquarters in 1962. It was from this base that the Secret War was largely planned and executed. As the war dragged on, Long Cheng became the busiest airbase in the world and a major center for the global opium and heroin trade. As we journey into Long Cheng for the first time -- the site has been off limits to the outside world since the end of the war in 1975 -- the film reconstructs the gripping story of the operation and ...

Principles of Evolution, Ecology and Behavior (EEB 122) The history of life and evolution has been characterized by several key events. These events can be grouped as new hierarchal levels of selection coming into play, as biological units coming together in symbiosis and specialization, or in a number of other ways. Other important events are situations of conflict resolution or information transmission, from the genetic to the cultural level. democast.tv Independence Day Tea Partier, Ms. Olga, reminds Americans that they're once again the targets of the long history of Islamists antagonizing American interests. The original lyrics to Francis Scott Key's 1805 national anthem includes the following: And pale beamed the Crescent, its splendor obscured By the light of the Star Spangled flag of our nation. Where each radiant star gleamed a meteor of war, And the turbaned heads bowed to its terrible glare. Francis Scott Key depicts the conflict as between the Muslim flag of Tripoli (with its crescent, now obscured) and the 'star-spangled' American flag -- standing for a new, rising power, and an altogether different system overcoming and surpassing the old. And of course, this is the source of the imagery and language for the Star-Spangled Banner.

This production is named for one of General Robert E. Lees quotes; It is history that teaches us to hope. The footage is from a rededication ceremony for the gravestone of a local Civil War veteran. The mans name was James C. Averill, and he was a private in Company L, 1st Heavy Artillery in Maine. He joined the Union Army in 1864 and is known for having fought at the Battle of Cold Harbor. James Averill died in 1901 on Labor Day, and was buried at the New Highland Cemetery in Newburyport, Massachusetts on 3 September 1901. This production honors Private Averill and other American war dead and veterans while addressing the question of why it is important to remember them. Through short interviews with organizers and participants of the event, General Robert E. Lees quote is also explored. Civil War photographs and accurate American casualty counts serve as a reminder of past American conflicts and the many brave men and women who fought them. Check out my channel for the full length interviews on the importance of history and why it is important to remember it, as well as extra scenes that were not included in the short main feature. At a total cost of more than 3.1 million lives, the Vietnam conflict is, to date, Americas longest and most controversial war. It also marked the first time TV journalists ventured to the frontlines to bring the spectacle of combat into American living rooms. Across the nation, Americans watched, captivated by the surprise Tet Offensive and the slow-motion tragedy of the 77-day Battle of Khe Sanh, and inspired by the courage and skill of American soldiers at decisive engagements like Ia Drang Valley, Con Thien, and Dak To. This special THE HISTORY CHANNEL collection profiles the decision-makers of the Vietnam War and chronicles each key event, from the advisors arrival in 1959 to the airlift from the roof of the American Embassy in 1975. Archival footage and interviews with historians and veterans reveal the military and political strategies in play, and CBS News archives take viewers to the frontlines to witness the daily struggles of American servicemen and women. Combining interviews with Vietnam veterans and the actual footage from CBS News coverage, the viewer is given a glimpse into the war that has rarely been seen. Battle stories are heart breaking enough in the words of the veterans, but coupled with the news footage and reporting (for the first time from the front lines,) it becomes a greater more personal grief.

www.russiatoday.com Russia to upgrade army in response to NATO expansion 17 March, 2009, 17:37 President Medvedev has announced a programme of rearmament for Russia's military, starting in 2011. He says NATO expansion is one of the reasons which make the step necessary. Speaking at a Defense Ministry meeting on Tuesday, Dmitry Medvedev said, The analysis of the current political-military situation in the world shows that there still remain threats coming from local conflicts as well as from international terrorism. Attempts to expand the North Atlantic alliance close to the borders of our country have not been stopped. This is the reason why we should upgrade our military forces and make them more advanced, he said. The number of military practice manoeuvres carried out each year will also be increased. "Many types of exercises have been held for the first time over a certain long period, or even in the entire history of the Armed Forces," Medvedev said. He added that the number of those exercises is still insufficient. Only exercises similar to real combat operations can enhance the skill and combat readiness of military units. This is something we should never hesitate to spend money on," said the President. A smaller, better armed and more flexible armed force thats what Russia needs to respond to growing threats from outside, according to Medvedev. There ...

The US Constitution, born out of conflict and economic turmoil, was the result of a series of brilliant compromises. With dramatizations and depictions of art from the period, Paul Burnford's "The Background of the United States Constitution" stresses the importance of key compromises and the events behind them. The video also shows why weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation led to the Constitutional Convention and why a Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers were necessary to allow for final ratification of the Constitution. 20 minutes, color and b/w. direct link to purchase video: www.phoenixlearninggroup.com

Dr. Steven Hoffman, professor of history at Southeast Missouri State University, is using cutting edge technology to help students understand key historical concepts. Hoffman structures his lessons around an interactive simulation that allows students role play as leaders of various countries in the conflict. The simulation encourages students to think critically about key historical concepts by experiencing the consequences of important decisions, and many find that they learn things they did not expect. It is one of many ways that Southeast is taking advantage of the latest technologies to provide students with an exciting and robust learning experience.
