A few days ago, Akshay Kumar held a special screening of his recently released flick, 'Khatta Meetha' for a select few politicians. Reason? Akshay thought that it would be apt to show this film that dealt with corruption and issues faced by the common man to political figures and bureaucrats. Amongst the invitees were Ambika Soni from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways. While some people tout the screening to be a step towards a 'tax-exemption' effort, Akshay insists that the screening was just to bring to the limelight of people who mattered the issues being faced by the aam aadmi in big cities or even small towns. 'Khatta Meetha' which is the remake of Priyadarshan's Malayalam hit 'Velanakalude Nadu' was applauded by the ministers who claimed that the screening had a purpose and was not of just entertainment value. Thoughts of about any political agenda that actor Akshay Kumar may have may well be discarded, as he continues to maintain that he is here only to entertain!
