"Candahar" Theme Song by kick evrything (Lyrics: Rodney Graham & Michael Turner; Music: Michael Turner) Torchbearer: Kirsten Barnes (Double Gold Medalist, Rowing, Barcelona 1992 !) During the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Nardwuar the Human Serviette was sent out by the Candahar Bar to capture what he saw and encountered on film. Dubbed "Nardwuar's Video Vault: Olympic Edition" the footage was then screened to a live audience at the Candahar over several nights. What is the Candahar? Northern Ireland based artist Theo Sims' Candahar Bar is a detailed recreation of an Irish public house, named for a street in Belfast and based on that city's now defunct Blackthorn Bar. Part sculpture, part theatrical stage, The Candahar is an artwork that is also a functioning bar, open to the public and staffed in collaboration with two Belfast bartenders who act as unscripted performers. The project fuses the authentic with fantasy, spectacle with stage, and at its heart acts as a catalyst for conversation, debate and dialogue — and a pint here or there. During the sixteen days of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Presentation House Gallery is staging The Candahar as a locus for social interaction and the host site for an ambitious series of nightly events — musical programs, theatrical presentations, performances and dialogues, both scripted and unscripted. But that's why, the meeter on Arena is smaller than the one in Freekick-mode, so I can't get the exact target on the meeter,.. First of all, this is meant to show what it looks like when you pass the song for the FIRST time. I'm aware that it's a horrible, horrible run, so no need to point that out. 56% in Solo B/C. Mmm... near-failure... This is a song I never really practiced, because I really had no interest. After watching Microgamer's video of his 95% run, I noticed his left hand (during C when ONLY using that hand) was moving at approx. 856 MPH. I realized that my fretting was really slow in the past compared to my strumming. I thought 'Next time I'll play I'll have to try and speed that up', and don't give it another thought. So today I'm reading a post on Scorehero.com about GH player #3249 not being able to beat Jordan, and throw in my piece of advice about the left hand. I then decide to actually see if it works or helps, and proceeded to get 57%, 58%, and then 59% on Solo B. My old record? 52%. I try Solo C, 57%! So I go in to try it out on a real run, and turns out it works. This was my first attempt, and it was a miracle. I made this video mostly for myself originally, but decided to post it due to the gut-wrenching Blue Note of Freedom. I was *ONE* note away from failing. Can't get closer than that.
