2010 Run for the Schools at Knoxville Zoo
The seventh annual Dine Out For Education event will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010. The school district invites restaurants from across Knox County to join this promotion. Last year, Knox County Schools received over $17000 in net proceeds from the participating restaurants. We hope the 2010 event is just as successful. Contact Scott Bacon (594-1909) or Mary Kerr (594-1928) if you would like to have your restaurant participate on April 20, 2010. We ask that you please make a return visit to the 2009 participating restaurants listed below, and thank them for their support of public education in Knox County. The Dine Out For Education promotional event annually includes many of the school district's restaurant friends who contribute 10% of their proceeds from the day. The proceeds from previous events have purchased mobile screening vans for the school district's Hearing and Vision Departments, as well as on-line research tools for the district's school libraries. The Dine Out For Education event is part of the Knox County Schools Partners In Education program. The Partners In Education program connects schools throughout Knox County with nearly 500 contributing organizations. Businesses, civic clubs, professional organizations, churches, government agencies, and even individuals are making differences in schools with their time, talent and resources. Organizations can join this effort by contacting the Public Affairs Office of the Knox County School System at 594-1909. Want ...
