Heathrow Airport - Emergency! The Situation ; We were at Heathrow Airport at the end of Runway 27R, waiting to see the PIA 777-300ER, when the Kuwait A300 came over us and landed... We thought it was quite a hard landing and involved a lot of smoke, when we heard over the Scanner, the ATC Controller say that there was a bit of smoke off the nose wheel... The A300 was then told to turn off the runway and hold, as soon as he had stopped, the fire service was dispatched and rushed to the A300 that was holding. Then ATC told a British Airways A320 to perform a Go-Around, which it executed imidiately and flew over our heads. The ATC controller then told all of the approaching aircraft to switch to the 27L approach so that now, only 27L was in use... A MD-80 was on short finals and the Controller told the SAS MD-80 to go around, which it did. Then the tower issued a runway check, and a little car zoomed onto the runway to do it's checks. We heard the mention of 'Seagull' and 'smoke from the front tyre'. After that, most of the fire engines returned, but a few stayed with the Kuwait A300... The BA A320 and SAS MD-80 successfully returned and landed safely back on 28R a few minutes later. :)

Local newspapers reported the groom's ex-wife was the arsonist. The inferno Saturday night in the tribal area of al-Jahra, west of Kuwait City, ate up the women's tent in just three minutes and left behind bodies so charred they were unrecognizable. Guests likely crushed one another in a desperate attempt to flee. It was still unclear if the bride had survived. The alleged arsonist has been identified and "confessed to committing the crime for personal reasons," Interior Ministry spokesman Col. Mohammed al-Saber told state-owned Kuwait television. Al-Saber's statement made no reference to an ex-wife, and he did not answer telephone calls seeking comment Monday. But Kuwaiti newspapers speculated on the cause of the fire, saying that the groom's former wife was to blame. The headline in the English-language Kuwait Times was "'Scorned' Woman Unleashed Fury."
