Kweekies has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
Useless therefor fun.
You can find the application running here. There's also a marker for you to print in lieu of one my real business cards. www.burtonposey.com The augmented reality avatar concept for the business card provides a way to provide potential clients and associates a way to get past the logo and brand and get to know the people. You could just as easily include hobbies or little known facts for yourself or an employee. This is an idea I'd been kicking around in my head since February. I wanted to find a way that a company could deliver a catchy identity for themselves. Avatars, be it the Mii's on the Nintendo Wii, or an Xbox Live Avatar, have become extensions of the people who use them. Special thanks to the Papervision team for the recent rev 911 of Papervision. With it, I was able to resolve issues I had been having for several months that prevented my avatar's animations from importing properly. -Character was modeled, unwrapped, rigged, weighted in Maya by myself. Animations (idle, wave) done by Jason Barnes. -Texture created in Photoshop (Ambient Occlusion maps overlayed from Maya) by myself
Utilizing our proprietary Motion Capture technology, as well as Augmented Reality & Facebook Connect, we created a game prototype called Cannonballz - www.cannonballzthegame.com These technologies allow anyone with a webcam to physically engage with the game's environment and appear (with their friends) in the actual game. Video showing the gameplay of the iPhone game iHerd. The game features touch control over two herding dogs as you round up your sheep into the pen. The game is timer based. Timers are reset by joining together sheep, but beware flocking together a black sheep will set the timers back. The AI uses standard flocking behaviour.

1999 Japanese version of the very 1st Mobile Suit In Action (MSIA) figure. I do have his bazooka somewhere... sorry I couldn't show it to you here, but rest assured, it is rubbish (all gray coloured, bendy plastic). BTW: this thing survived quite unscathed from the beating I gave it. He just pops back together like nothing ever happened. I'll have to try harder next time. KIDDING!

windows mobile augmented reality, based on a client server concept. Windows Pda sends camera stream via wifi to a server, and simultaneously receives the augmented visuals back via Windows Media Streaming technology. This is then opened via windows media player application on the pda. At the moment latency is around 6 to 7 seconds. This shows how live AR can be implemented on PDAs for group exploration (where one person is the "pilot" and a large number of visitors switch on their mobile phones and tune into the broadcast from the windows media streaming server) until such a time when GPU and CPU power increase on portable devices.
www.int13.net - The Kweekies are cute creatures living in a parallel universe. With the help of a Smartphone and a magic symbol acting as a portal the player will be able to see them walking on his desk. A playful kweeko may adopt the player and become his pet.
