Laguna Beach has long been a center for art. Creative types tired of the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles flocked here in droves to work their magic along Laguna's pristine shores. The Laguna Art Museum continues this proud heritage with an impressive list of year-round exhibitions and programming. Within these hallowed halls, you'll find classic and contemporary works by artists both fledgling and world renowned. An emphasis is placed on Californians, but the museum's scope is global nonetheless. See website for exhibition schedule and complete visitation particulars. wcities.com

My first trip to BMP and worth the long haul from Ohio. An amazing facility that I can't say enough good things about. A diabolical track layout with elements of Laguna Seca and Mid Ohio rolled up in one. First time I went the track seemed 10 miles long; blind corners and elevation changes all over the place, I didn't know whether to turn left or right. A lot of fun once you get the hang of it. A track where, IMO, horse power is less important than handling. Another well run event by PBOC out of Florida (thanks Joanne, Bob and Pete!). As if the track weren't enough, the museum is incredible and the public art on display on the infields and around the track facilities makes this a very unique and special experience.

If you've been following my videos on www.peopleyouthinkyouknow.com - most of these scenes will be familiar to you. However, I am experimenting with how I will be pulling sequences from the website to create the eventual feature-length documentary. Judging from this short (compiled from 5 previous scenes and some new content), it will prove to be a very enjoyable process - like putting together a giant jigsaw puzzle. This 8-minute piece will be screened at the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach, CA this February the 26th. Stop by if you are in the neighborhood.

Her projects have taken her to a wide range of mediums. She has won awards in the Deseret News Colors of the Land art show and has been selected by the Springville Museum of Art in 2002; 2003, and 2004. The CEO of Dell Computer project took Diane to Florida to work with the design team on a 62 - art piece project. Diane is also a master in framing breaking the conventional framing boundaries. Diane started skiing at age 10. Her passion in skiing lead her to Utah in 1972 to teach skiing at Park West. As in skiing miles and miles of snow and in painting miles and miles of canvas Diane has enjoyed the silk in the visions, vistas and horizons. A year ago the Heard Museum purchased "Mother, "a multimedia portrait of Sharon Lynn Allison. Marla Allison, who is represented by the Berlin Gallery at the Heard Museum Shop, won the inaugural Dobkin Award for Innovation at SWAIA Indian Market in Santa Fe for this piece. Allison recently contacted the curatorial department about a companion piece, "Father, "she wanted to donate to the Heard. Each portrait has a video component, with photographs and film telling their personal story. Together these pieces provide a fascinating narrative of the family and heritage of a Laguna artist who is exploring new technology in the art world. We are very grateful for the gift from Marla Allison. The Heard Museum relies on the generosity of individuals to support and strengthen our collections and exhibit program. For the Heard to fulfill our mission of educating the public about the vibrancy of Native cultures, we depend on donations from our membership and supporters. It is through gifts such as Ms. Allison that we are able to exhibit innovative works by contemporary American Indian artists.

By the time he was caught in 1997, John Drewe had pulled off the biggest art fraud in UK history. Drewe met a struggling art teacher with a flare for reproductions and conned him into painting hundreds of fakes. Later, Drewe posed as a wealthy patron of the arts to gain access to museum archives and plant false records that supported the authenticity of his faux masterpieces.
