Although the Lakers lengthy home stint finished on a high note with a 104-92 victory over the Timberwolves, their 11th straight, it may have come at a cost. Lakers guard Kobe Bryant fractured his right index finger, jamming it against the ball in the first quarter. He expects to play with the injury. "I'm concerned," said Bryant of the injury as his team begins a five-game road trip. "but you just play through it, and try to figure things out. Tomorrow will probably be the worse of it. "You just get used to it. It's a different technique to shoot it." The injury, officially being called an avulsion fracture, is on his shooting finger and will require him to wear a foam splint. Bryant's injury is similar to the one on his pinkie finger, which he fractured on Feb. 5, 2008. Despite the injury, Bryant still finished out the game and logged 34 minutes en route to a team-high 20 points on 8-for-18 shooting. Lakers forward Pau Gasol finished with 17 points, had a career-high 20 rebounds and tied a season high with seven assists. The Lakers (18-3) are now riding their longest win streak since March 13-April 2, 2004 and their run may continue with four of their next five opponents having losing records.
