This video Part II, Operation Cast Lead, Israeli White Phosphorous Attack on the UNRWA School at Beit Lahia, Gaza, Palestine.01-17-09, or more aptly put, the Israeli massacre of the Palestinian people, by the Israeli armed forces from December 27, 2009 to January 18, 2010, shows only a minuscule portion of the unprovoked and totally unnecessary Barbarous Israeli attack using White Phosphorous on unarmed, noncombatant civilians, primarily women, children and some old men in a United Nations safe zone agreed to by the Israeli General command. I thoroughly researched the available many documents, pictures, slideshows and videos on the Israeli attack on Gaza, Palestine, named Operation Cast Lead. It was a very time consuming endeavour to say the least It took hundreds of hours until the final powerpoint Presentation of Parts I and II was completed. One thing glaringly stood out like a sore thumb. The truth about Operation Cast Lead was missing from the information presented by the Israelis and their supporters including the Administration and especially most members of Congress and Senate of the United States of America. Since You Tube imposes a 10 minute limit for each presentation, I had to create two separate videos of the Israeli Attack on the Gaza Strip, Palestine from December 27, 2008 to January 18, 2009. The first video on youtube is entitled Part I, Operation Cast Lead, Israeli Attack on Gaza 12-27-08 to 01-18-09. This is the second video entitled Part II, Operation ...

As we enter 2010, the Latino community continues to grow and increase its critical role in the further progress of our nation. The Census will surely demonstrate yet again that Latinos live in significant numbers in every region of our nation, working hard every day to improve our economy, our polity, and our society. We look forward to a decade of increased opportunity, including the shattering of more barriers like the one broken in 2009 with the seating of Justice Sonia Sotomayor. It is important that we assess the current state of our nation from the perspective of the Latino community. -- Thomas A. Saenz, MALDEF President and General Counsel Yesterday, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) hosted the 2010 Latino State of the Union: The 3rd Annual Roundtable on Law, Policy and Civil Rights at the National Press Club in Washington, DC MALDEF President and General Counsel, Thomas A. This is the VOA Special English Education Report, from voaspecialenglish.com College enrollment has reached an all-time high in the United States. About forty percent of all eighteen- to twenty-four-year-olds -- or almost eleven and a half million -- were in school in October of last year. A new report says both numbers are record highs. Richard Fry at the Pew Research Center points to a number of reasons. He says the number of young adults who have finished high school is also now at a record all-time high. Almost eighty-five percent of America's young adults have finished high school. Another reason for the enrollment increase the recession. The unemployment rate reached a twenty-six year high in October. The economic downturn has hit young adults especially hard. Richard Fry says their job-holding rate is almost at the lowest point in nearly fifty years. In a poor job market, many people turn to higher education, especially at two-year colleges. These schools, known as community colleges, have had the greatest enrollment increase. They offer professional training and cost a lot less than programs at four-year schools. But experts say the recession has not cut enrollment in four-year programs, even with their higher costs. The Chronicle of Higher Education says at least fifty-eight private colleges now charge fifty thousand dollars or more a year. Lately there have been accusations that some private, competitive liberal arts colleges are trying to avoid being seen as ...
On January 19, 2008 in this one-hour interview, Ron Kruvant, exposes his older brother Michael Wolf Kruvant, author of The Catchers of Heaven 1996. Ron provides his telephone numbers for the researcher to talk with him in more detail, at the end of the interview. Michael did not have any college degrees. Did not get married and have a child. Did not loose a wife and child in a car accident, etc. Did not fly a jet in Vietnam, nor serve in the military. In reality Michael's mother supported him most of his life while he lived in Hartford, CT. It is an interesting study in itself to see how fabrications are spread from book to book and website-to-website, with out any one doing some simple research to check it out. This interview was conducted in Maplewood, NJ across the street from Columbia High School where Michael graduated in 1959. --------------------- I talked with Michael on the phone when I lived in North Carolina after reading his book. Then I talked with his stepsister who told me his true situation and life history. In disgust I dropped the whole matter and walked away from further investigation. Then on July 15, 1998 I moved to New Jersey and was working for an in ground concrete swimming pool company and one day my boss said, "go get a building permit for Kruvant in Livingston". This was one of Michael's cousins. So I picked the research trail up again, since I was now living in Michael's old stomping grounds. Then later, I got a job in Cedar Grove and drove ...

The Anoka-Hennepin School Board meets 6:30 pm tonight at the district administrative offices in Coon Rapids. District staff will review enrollment numbers as of Oct. 1. In other Anoka-Hennepin news, the School Board's decision to close six schools is now void because the district violated state law and didn't give sufficient two week notice to the public for the original public hearings about the closings. Parent leaders in the group called "Defend Riverview" brought this violation to the district's attention. The group is against Riverview Specialty School for Math and Environmental Science in Brooklyn Park from closing. The schools that had been approved to close included Champlin Elementary, Riverview, both kindergarten centers, Peter Enich in Anoka and Park View in Champlin, LO Jacob and Sorteberg elementary schools in Coon Rapids. A new public hearing to discuss school closures is 7 pm Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Blaine High School, and the School Board is scheduled to vote on it again at its meeting 6:30 pm Monday, Nov. 23. The Brooklyn Park City Council meets 7 pm tonight at City Hall. By: Ty Brennan A recent study by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University has some startling results about teens and drugs. In their study, they found that 40 percent of teens could get marijuana within a day; another quarter said they could get it within an hour. In another portion of the survey, teens between the ages of 12 and 17 say it's easier to get marijuana than buy cigarettes, beer or prescription drugs. That number is up 37 percent from 2007. But, local law enforcement says these numbers don't match up to what's happening here in east Idaho. Kim Ellis, Pocatello Police department: "That's something that we're seeing here, but as far as what we're seeing the statistics don't bear out, that way, we're seeing a lot more underage consumption citations than marijuana, possession of marijuana." According the Pocatello Police Department, since the beginning of the year there were 58 alcohol violations with minors younger than 18, while there were only 12 marijuana violations. Law enforcement credit's this to in school programs like "DARE" and having school resource officers available. For more information about the study: www.casacolumbia.org
High school drop outs are on the rise in Texas, and the State is seeking to bring those numbers back down. The Texas Education Agency wants to make it tougher for drop outs to find work, but some local businesses say that won't fly. Texas Education Chief Robert Scott has gone to the Texas Association of Business to ask them to participate in a statewide ban on hiring high school drop outs. But some local businesses say what the education department is asking for will only add to the problem. "It's the easy solution, but I don't think it's the right solution, and I really don't think it's a solution at all, Julia Wallace with the Andrews Chamber of Commerce said. Julia Wallace with the Andrews Chamber of Commerce says the tea's proposal may sound good, but simply won't work. "A lot of things are great in theory, but when we start trying to put them to practical use, they don't really work out, Wallace said. It may do more harm than good. "I think it'll really just hinder a lot of the businesses that hires these kids. On top of that, I think it'll be a real detriment to the kids themselves, Trae Porter, owner of Porters Thriftway in Andrews said. He says the TEA should stick to education. "They're our businesses, and it's none of their business what we do, Porter said. He says all people with or without diplomas should have a place in the Texas workforce. "It's really intrusive. I don't think it's any of their business, first of all, what happens with the kids once they ...
Images of two 1961 Hawaii birth certificates similar to the one President Obama purportedly has on file have now been unveiled. The Honolulu Advertiser published photostats of the original long-form birth certificates of twin daughters born to Eleanor Nordyke at Kapi'olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital Aug. 5, 1961, one day after Obama was supposedly born at the same facility. The Nordykes' certificates include information missing from the short-form document for Obama published online, including the name of the hospital, the name of the attending physician, name and address of the parents, the race of the parents and the race of the baby. As WND reported yesterday, Hawaii's director of health responded to the growing controversy over the White House's refusal to release Obama's original long-form birth certificate by issuing a statement about the document in apparent contravention of Hawaiian law. (Story continues below) Dr. Chiyome Fukino declared she has seen the "original birth records" that verify Obama was born in Hawaii and is a "natural-born American citizen," the Honolulu Advertiser reported. Join in wnd's Fedex campaign and tell Obama you don't buy his state-run media coverup! But in two separate telephone interviews with WND, Janice Okubo, the health department's public information officer, told WND that Hawaii law prohibited her from commenting on the birth records of any specific person. WND also reported the Hawaii Department of Heath affirmed that no ...
www.mindbites.com In this lesson, Professor Burger begins with a review of the Law of Sines. He then introduces the Law of Cosines, which extends the Pythagorean Theorem to triangles that are not right, allowing us to solve for any angle in the triangle. The Law of Cosines, also called the Al-Kashi Law and the Cosine Formula and the Cosine Rule, states that, for the angle you are solving for, opposite side ^2 = (sum of the squares of adjacent sides) - 2 * (product of the adjacent sides) (cos of the desired angle). The law of cosines is most useful when computing the third side of a triangle when two sides and their enclosed angle are known (SAS) or when computing the angles of a triangle in which all sides are known (SSS). www.mindbites.com Trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan, etc) originally arose from the ratios of the sides of right triangles. But we can still use sine to evaluate the sines of angles that are in a triangle but not in a right triangle, using the Law of Sines. The Law of Sines states that [(sin a)/A] = [(sin b)/B] = [(sin c)/C], where a is the angle opposite side A (and so on for b/B and c/C). Sometimes the angles, a, b, and c, in this equation are denoted by the Greek symbols for alpha, beta, and gamma. Professor Burger shows you how to think about and use this this law by working through a number of different examples. This law lays the foundation for proving properties about triangles that don't have a right angle, including the calculation of the lengths of their sides and the measures of their angles. Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Proft today proposed a new admissions policy for the University of Illinois, calling the current system which favors applicants of the politically-connected another example of a government system that is fixed. Sadly, we must add our great state university to the long list of Illinois systems that arent broken, but fixed, said Proft, speaking to reporters at the Chicago Hilton. Proft criticized politicians who are calling for top administrators at the University to resign. If anyone should have to resign, it should be those who applied the pressure, not those who succumbed to it, he said. Arguing that such calls miss the point, Proft said that our focus should be on how to end this shameful practice and guarantee to future applicants to the University of Illinois that the bar for admissions is based on merit, achievement, and hard work not on who you know. Rather, Proft said, the goal should be to remove the incentive to influence the admissions process. Calling his new policy a Merit-Based Opportunity standard, Proft proposed that all applicants names be replaced with identification numbers. All that an admissions official will be able to discern from an application is the students academic and extracurricular achievements as it should be, said Proft. This proposal means that even if a politically-connected individual demands special consideration for a particular applicant, the admission officials would be unable to comply ...

Google Tech Talks March 26, 2009 ABSTRACT Sesame Innovations: Four Decades of Helping Kids Know and Grow Around the Globe Presented by Gary Knell Sesame Street was founded in 1969 on the simple and then novel premise that if children could remember the "jingle plop, plop, fizz, fizz," then they could learn letters, numbers and vital social skills from television viewing, when presented in an engaging way. Forty years after the Muppets were tapped to build young children's school readiness skills in the US, Sesame Street programs are now in over 140 countries, spanning six continents, reaching nearly 100 million children and families. As media's ubiquity in children's lives has taken hold during the digital revolution, the Workshop has pioneered innovative educational campaigns and research-based content on new platforms using breakthrough technologies like mobile phones, virtual worlds and video games. In addition, the Workshop has launched a new multimedia production of the iconic children's literacy program The Electric Company. Gary E. Knell, President and CEO, will the share insights on how Sesame Street is educating children around the globe and provide an inside look at the Workshops newest campaign to help struggling readers. Gary Knell is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sesame Workshop.
