I didnt expect anything less from the big man himself. I heard footsteps and soon the door was opened by Kevin. He smiled widely. "Hey! Nick was sitting under a tree with his guitar and a notepad, playing chords and scribbling down lyrics, with Elvis laying up against his side, eyes closed and his paws wiggling back and forth. Hi My Cool Listeners, Well here is the latest song from Laurie & I. Made in July... And for the first time you will see Laurie & I on the same clip ;-) So may be would you like to know more about this tune? if you do, let's talk about it... If you don't it's ok too LOL!!! And you're still welcome :-) Once upon a time... ... in June I told Laurie that I was trying to write a song about a guy coming back from the war, but lazy as I am, I did not work on it that much and decided to do something else, like...Playing guitar...And to be really honest I have no talent for lyrics writing LOL. Laurie and I had some conversations about veterans we knew, Laurie talking about friends back from Vietnam, and me about my Grandfather and one of my uncle who came back from the war. We talked a lot about effects that wars made on 'em... Then in July on a lazy saturday afternoon, I decided to sit on a chair, grab a guitar, and make a challenge with myself, sit and compose a song. Usually I take a guitar, then let my mind fly away, and look what my fingers could do, and when I'm lucky a music come. BUT that time I decided to TRY to write music...After a few minutes I had the begining of a begining, I liked the progression of these chords then write it down and go back to the good book I was reading at this time. I have the day off today - woke up with a cracking headache following wrap party at work yesterday afternoon. I just played what felt right. The solo guitar is fairly okay, except for some parts that my skills couldn't manage yet. The bridge was the only thing I was completely clueless and the picking on the 2nd guitar was a little too much for my lazy bum... LMAO!
