TIME what makes us tick? is it our inner clock, or are we part of a gigantic clockwork regulating our daily moves? Observed on a human scale, the very basic rhythm of every day is sunset and sunrise, we go in to bed and out of bed. A rhythm, so elementary and universal and at the same time so intimate. This is an impression of Sync' by Max Hattler and 'Bedrooms' bij Nelleke Koop with music by Dennis van Tilburg. These were part of the 'Time, what makes us tick?' installation in the Open Mind series of Pavlov E-Lab, presented on the Noorderzon Performing Arts festival 2010. In this edition Max and Nelleke collaborated with chronobiologist Martha Merrow and physicist Eric Bergshoeff in their mutual exploration of the theme of Time.
On Tuesday, readers of The Times of India in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Chennai woke up to the surprise of their newspaper 'speaking' to them about the Vento, the first ever advertising campaign of this type in the world. On social networking sites and among media professionals, the starkly different advertisement has drawn excited comment for its innovativeness and potential to become a trendsetter. The 'talking' advertisement — an audio rendering of the print commercial — was made possible by a light-sensitive device weighing just a few grams and pasted on the final page of the paper's special 10-page section. It was carried in some 2.2 million copies.
The cutting edge technology in mass-media is here guys... "The Times Of India" with "Volkswagen Motors" have shown the world what they boast off. The latest "Speaking Newspaper" speaks to you when you lay open the paper from its actual position. This device uses sensor technology with byte technique for the marvel. This device can be found on the TOI issue of 21st September 2010 Tuesday. Disclaimer : I am just a mediocre & DOESN'T OWN any of the rights for the device or any other thing related. Prahlād Keshav Atre (13 August 1898 13 June 1969), popularly known as Āchārya Atre, was a multi-faceted Indian figure. He was a prominent Marathi writer, a great poet, an educationist, a brilliant newspaper foundereditor (Maratha marathi daily that had its head office and press in Worli Coca-Cola galli)), a political leader, a movie producerdirectorscript writer and above all, a superb orator. Atre's contributions to Marathi literature have been listed under Important works below. He was an outstanding humorist, and his writing style—whether he wrote humorous or serious material—was highly effective. He introduced parodistic poetry to Marathi language (under the pen name Keshav Kumār), and he did that extraordinarily well. His book, Jhenduchi Phule, contains the collection of his parodistic poems. (He wrote a poem, Shyamale, under the whimsical pen name Maulānā Allāuddin Khilji). Atre was born in the town of Saswad (near Pune) in Maharashtra. He started his career as a teacher, and crowned his twenty-year teaching career by running for many of those years a high school as its principal with distinction. He compiled a series of Marathi language textbooks for elementary and secondary schools. Those textbooks remained in wide use in Maharashtra for a large number of years. Atre wrote seven plays, some with a humorous theme, and others with a serious theme. All of them received high public acclaim. Atre's two autobiographical works, Mi Kasā Jhālo and Karheche Pāni, similarly ...

To me a book is not just a book, it is a love affair... I have loved reading from my very childhood. My own personal library consisted of one hundred fifty thousand rare books of all the religions, philosophies, poetry, literature. And I have read all of them, but with no purpose; I enjoyed it. ------ The OSHO Library is maintained by Osho International Foundation. All of these books have been read, signed and dated by Osho, except about lO,OOO which have been gathered on his request after he stopped reading. Osho's personal library is now housed in a building named "Lao Tzu House" at the Osho Meditation Resort in Pune, India. The library holds more than 150000 volumes, mostly in the humanities, including history, psychology, religion and philosophy. It also features a quite substantial collection of the classic literature of East and West, along with an impressive array of biographies, books on physics and earth sciences, etc. The library has been created with aesthetic considerations in mind, the object being to create a light and airy feeling rather than the "heavy" and "serious" look of so many libraries. Books are sorted according to size and color, and placed on the shelves in an arrangement that suggests ocean waves. The effect is organic and natural, with no solid blocks of color or size to grab the eye and weigh it down. Osho himself was an avid book collector and reader throughout most of his life, and the library includes volumes that he has kept in pristine ...

One of Times of India's recent ads. Part of the newspaper's Day in the Life of India. But this one is far from funny, like the earlier ones. A more Bollywood-like emotional story of one generation's dream fulfilled by another.
