theslotan510 brings you autopia!!! Gadourky was driving by the way!!! The Disneyland Autopia, in one form or another, is one of the few current attractions that opened with the park on July 17, 1955. When it opened, it represented the future of what would become America's multilane limited-access highways, which were still being developed. President Eisenhower had yet to sign the Interstate Highway legislation at the time Disneyland opened. Before the park opened, the cars were tested without the bumpers, and were almost completely destroyed by the test drivers. Bumpers were fitted around the vehicle, but there were still problems with collisions, as a guide rail had yet to be implemented on the ride. Eventually the vehicles were fitted with spring-loaded bumpers to discourage collisions. The Tomorrowland version received makeovers in 1967 and 1999. The Tomorrowland version was not the only form of Autopia to exist at Disneyland. Other versions, separate from the Tomorrowland version, included the Midget Autopia, Fantasyland Autopia (Rescue Rangers Raceway), and Junior Autopia. Of these, the Tomorrowland Autopia existed the longest. The Midget Autopia opened in 1957. It was the smallest and was the third Autopia track, after the Tomorrowland Autopia (1955) and the Junior Autopia in Fantasyland (1956). It was located next to the Storybook Land Canal Boats and the Motor Boat Cruise at the very edge of Fantasyland. It was closed in 1966 and dismantled to make way for 'it's a ...

Disneyland Secrets: Main Street USA Note: Some of these secrets may be out-dated. If you are absolutely sure one of these is false, please tell me. This is a recently new account, but I also have a Adventureland Secrets video! Oh and I'm so sorry I forgot to edit off the music! ---------------------------------------------------------- The horse-drawn street cars once used Clydesdales, but the horses were so strong they pulled the cars off the tracks. Until the late 70's, the Bank of America in Main Street USA was a functioning bank, and the only bank open on Sunday. The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor features a large green elephant. This elephant was a gift from Disneyland Paris and was originally filled with pennies. City Hall was designed by Imagineer Harper Goff, who did most of the visual work in 20000 Leagues Under the Sea. He copied the design of City Hall directly from the old courthouse of his hometown Fort Collins, Colorado. The base of the flag pole found in Main Street was purchased from a scrap heap for real cheap. It was once the base of a light post. Main Street USA represents Walt's home town, Marceline, Missouri in 1901, the year Walt was born. The Indian Statue on Main Street USA has a twin and had a purpose. At one point it stood in front of a tabacco shop on Main Street. His twin is in Frontierland is in front of the general store, which is now a candy shop. The horse-less carriages are out-fitted with tractor engines to give them authentic antique ...
For more info on the trip view the previous video, (Link at the bottom) 6:52 - Early on November 10, My dad and I woke up early and went down to the La Plata Amtrak Station. We were greeted with the WB M-CNIKCK with 2 CN SD40-2Ws. 7:32 - After the freight we headed to the Look Out and hung out inside to get away from the cold temperatures outside. That ruined this video though, We didnt know the train was coming.... So I had to improvise with a hand-held shot from inside. 8:25 - Almost an hour later we were at a crossing just west of town and caught a 4 Pack of engines leading an EB Z-Train down a hill in Amish Country. This is the first in a series of videos from my trip to La Plata, Missouri back in 2008. These videos had a different purpose when I set out to film them, I was hopeing to make a DVD with them. But, After I returned home and looked over them, I realized they weren't up to my standards to be in a DVD. I finally have time to make the videos and upload them, so look for a few more in the future. I now have an HD Camcorder and I want to go back to actually take some Professional Grade video, Maybe this summer? We'll see... Also, I didnt really understand the importance of being on the right side for sunlight and such so thats another bummer about these videos. 2:32 - While the rest of my family was eating lunch at the Red Rooster Restaurant, I walked down the old Wabash Roadbed to the Depot Inn and Suites Look Out Point. I was greeted by this UP Pacer Stack train right when I arrived. 2:40 - Right on the heels of the last train, another UP Chi-Bound train rolls through with a C45ACCTE and a sd70ace on the rear. 3:05 - After a little 25 Minute break we get another East Bound with 2 "Dash 9s". 4:06 - Just over an hour later an EB Grain train bound for Ruff Brothers Grain near Toluca, or the Grain Elevator in Ransom, (Both located on the Chillicothe Subdivision) rolls through with a Single ES44DC leading. 4:18 - A fairly long and over powered stack train stomps through with a mix of ES44DC and C44-9W power.\ Link for next Video in Series: www.youtube.com

Their wedding was shot out in central Missouri in the small town of Marceline. This is their "off-site" session that took place after the ceremony and before the reception. As you can tell, they were a laid back, fun crowd to film. Enjoy this video in HD!

This is the first in a series of 1960's & 1970's silent movies I took of Santa fe trains . This movie was taken in La Plata and Marceline Missouri. You will notice that engineers and conductors were required to grab train orders on the fly. Orders were attached to a string and hung on a pole trackside. As the train went by, employees used their arm to collect their orders. Now, this is all done by the dispatcher via radio/ computer communications. Go to www.mysantafetrains.com for more photos and videos.

The Wonderful World of Walt Disney Walt Disney is a real hero and legend of the 20th Century. Although many people at the time told him that a career in animation did not have a real future and that he would not make any money, he persisted and followed his dreams led by his creativity and imagination. Walt changed the world of animation and led the way to the art of animated films. He stood for the best in animation and television entertainment, giving people hours of fun and enjoyment by letting them forget their problems for a while. Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. His father was Elias Disney and his mother was Flora Call Disney. He had three brothers and one sister. Soon after Walts birth his family moved to Marceline, Missouri where he spent most of his childhood. When Walt was very young he would sell his drawings to friends and neighbors to make extra money and later, encouraged by his brother and mother he studied art and photography at night courses at the Chicago Art Institute while going to mckinley High School during the day. Walt dropped out of High School to join the war (WWI). Since he was too young to enlist, he joined the Red Cross as an ambulance driver. While he was in France in 1918, he decorated his ambulance with cartoon characters. When Walt returned from the war, he pursued a career in Commercial Art. He started a company called Laugh-O-Grams and it soon went bankrupt. Walt went to Hollywood searching for a ...

Santa Fe's Marceline Subdivision With just six days remaining before Santa Fe was to be merged with the Burlington Northern, Pentrex set out to do something special to mark the occasion. It was decided to document these last few days of Santa Fe's independence by capturing the action along the Marceline Subdivision. Starting at Fort Madison, Iowa, we began a trek that took us across the isolated Missouri hills and river valleys toward Kansas City. Experiencing all types of weather, we had our share of both sunshine and rain as we relentlessly sought out photo locations along the double-tracked line. Step by step, and day by day, we made our way toward Kansas City, arriving there on the afternoon of Santa Fe's last full day, September 21, 1995. The Marceline Sub traverses some of the most isolated, backwoods territory imaginable for this part of the country. The tracks climb and twist through the scenic rolling hills of northeastern Missouri. Overhead bridges offer excellent views of Santa Fe's hottest trains. The thirty miles of joint operations with Norfolk Southern are viewed as trains from both railroads race across the tangent speedway. On our final day we view the single-tracked Missouri River bridge and head on to Kansas City to reach the end of the Marceline Sub. Join us as we say good-bye to an old friend and pay tribute to one of America's favorite railroads. The days clicked off one by one and when the trek was complete we'd reached the end of an era on this ...

Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Steadfast Tin Soldier". Music: Piano Concerto No. 2 Allegro, Opus 102 Composer of Music: Dmitri Shostakovich Presented by Bette Midler in Disney's Fantasia 2000. I give you this because it is my favourite piece from the movie, and all other clips with these motion pictures on youtube features other audio (which is rubbish) than the original classic. Shot at Bucklin, MO on the BNSF Marceline Sub 9April 2008. Sorry it's a bit jerky, but got pretty chilled waiting for it, so was a bit unsteady. Note the P42's are back-to-back, they usually run nose-to-tail; also the train is short one of it's sleepers, set out at ABQ the previous day.
