Seattle public schools superintendent Maria Goodloe-Johnson was brought in from South Carolina in 2007. Despite concerns over her qualifications, communication skills, and management style, she was lauded for her skin color -- the rationale being that her racial makeup might help improve underperforming black students' academic scores. Seattle's Affirmative Action superintendent has predictably failed students. But she has delivered for her fellow Affirmative Action opportunists.

Shen Yuns spring tour in the United States continues to receive outstanding feedback. Our correspondents were at Seattles Paramount Theatre to see just what the audience thought. Shen Yun delighted audience members in Seattle, so much that the performers were called back for three curtain calls. Audience members both western and Chinese said they appreciated seeing 5000 years of Chinese culture on stage. [Li Ruilin, Municipal Councilman]: Being a Chinese American myself. You know, this is a great manifestation of the past and it connects the two cultures together. And you know, just its a wonderful, wonderful feeling. I think beauty brings out the spiritual part of human good. So you know it shows. So the fact that I enjoyed it, you know. It is more than what you can say. Seattle Public School Superintendent Maria Goodloe-Johnson took her child to see the performance. [Maria Goodloe-Johnson, Seattle Public Schools Superintendent]: "We have a very diverse population in Seattle and many of our students in the public schools are Chinese heritage. So absolutely they would enjoy it and it is good for all of our children because everyone can learn from it. I appreciated all of it. The dancing, the drumming, the costumes. Which I had not really seen before in a performance. So it was also a learning experience for myself. So it was great. NTD, Seattle, Washington.
