The only thing more Mexican than tequila is mariachi music and some might consider it a shame to have one without the other. Mariachi goes beyond music; it is the sum of a cultural revolution expressed through a group of musicians, dressed in popular clothing (most recently charro suits) which encompasses the essence of Mexico and its people. It is something cultural, spiritual and traditional that is unique to this country, an experience not to be missed. Mariachi music groups are very popular in Mexico and all around the world. Mariachi is a genre of music that originated in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. (Where Puerto Vallarta is actually located) It is an integration of stringed instruments highly influenced by the cultural impacts of the historical development of Western Mexico. In addition, socio historical factors have influenced the repertoire in terms of the performance of diverse regional song forms as well as the evolution of the performance attire. puerto-vallarta-weddings.magnify.net

Watch Mariachi Music - A Cinco de Mayo Holiday Tradition Only On misshotz.com Mariachi music is one of the most familiar of Cinco de Mayo traditions. Mariachi is probably the most well-known genre of Mexican folk music. Almost every American knows the two most popular mariachi songs, La Cucaracha and the Jarabe Tapatío (aka Mexican Hat Dance). With its distinct sound and characteristic western costumes, mariachi has come to symbolize Mexican nationalism. The mariachi ensemble generally consists of an acoustic guitar, a vihuela (high-pitched five-string guitar), a guitarrón (large acoustic bass guitar), violins and one or more trumpets. The mariachi musicians (aka Mariachis or Mariacheros) also sing during their musical performance. In some cases the mariachi group may be joined by a female vocalist, known as a ranchera. Thanks to Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán for their song El Mariachi Locos! mexican music, cinco de mayo music, mariachi, cinco de mayo, youtube
I heard this mariachi song and thought it was funny. I hope you'll enjoy it too!
We happened on these musicians and asked them to play us a song. I did not know it at the time, but there was some interesting stuff happening in the background while they played. Look over the guitar player's right shoulder and you will see a couple dry humping in the background. Funny stuff!

I will begin by saying the lesson is in the middle of the video. I have just started with what it should sound like first. In this Antonio Banderas performed the original song in Desperado. Los Lobos have played this aswell. I have purposely played the song slowly so you can see and hear it easier so you could learn the song. Please listen to the original for seeing how many times one of the parts are played for. In this video i have included the introduction to the song the verse and chorus and i have also involved a strumming version to the verse and chorus. Not all parts of this lesson are exactly like the original but it's pretty much the same...Play this piece slowly first and then slowly perfect it as you practice. I hope this video helps you! By the way i would be happy to consider any requests of movie songs/music on the guitar songs people may have in regards from the two movies below: - Desperado - Once Upon A Time In Mexico (or if any special requests) If this goes well and viewers would like a more complex and accurate lesson, again i am more than happy to do so... Keep updated with new spanish Guitar Lessons by subscribing :) As said, hope it helps and enjoy. Thanks

Hello All, Thank you for watching. Please stay tuned untill the end of the video for a special presentation by Jake Cortez. ( jakecortez.com & http ) The video you are watching is probably the last one I will be posting for a while, but who knows... Personal life and My Full time job have been taking up a lot of my time over the past year and a half and I have not had time to post videos or to work on instruments for that matter. I would like to thank you all for viewing and commenting on my videos, all comments, positive and negative are always welcome. As you may have noticed, I have taken down all my other videos. The reason for this is that I will be editing all of them to exclude my email address. I have been overwhelmed with emails asking about my instrument work. While I do not mind recieving the questions and answering them as time permits, going forward I prefer that everyone just send me a YouTube message, this way my email inbox is not flooded with messages. I will answer all questions as I am able to get to them. Now, as for the Video: What you are looking at are 2 guitars especialy made for playing Mariachi Music. Although, they can be use for any other style. The special design allows for a rounder / louder sound for playing live performances with out any sort of amplification. In addition to that other features include: a raised string heigth from the sound board and a thicker fretboard. This allows for more room for struming "Golpe" Style as is done in ...

Dances from around the world to the song rr vs. D. by the band Au. Check out this cool band www.au-au-au.com This is my personal video, inspired by the wonderful music. I heard this song first on NPRs All Songs Considered. Bob Boilen introduced it by saying: What I love about this music is that you never know where it takes you next. This stuck in my head and I always pictured some kind of high speed journey full of fun when I heard it. For this clip I took a journey through YouTube which took me to pretty amazing places. The clips used here are: First a traditional Bavarian dance. When I saw that it was filmed at the centennial of the Trachtenverein (traditional costume club) of the city of Au in Germany, I knew it had to be in the clip. If you watch closely you can read it in the banner over the stage. The female dancer twirls like a mechanical doll which was perfect for the opening and the Lederhosn slapping foreshadows the clapping of the second segment. Dirndl Drahn 2007 Au posted by Sokrates001 There are many versions of Cueca, the national Chilean dance, on the Internet. Some more are in my playlist Things I like. The one here is posted on Google Videos. I love the fun and high spirts of the event. Cueca at Colegio Dario Dalas, Chillán, Chile posted by ??? Next are two snippets of a song and dance called Poi E by the Patea Maori Club. This was actually the first clip I knew I wanted to use in this piece. I travelled in New Zealand in 1984 and this song was ...
