The plastic sprocket on the Ego II electric 'bike lasted as little as 20 miles when grit from wet roads got caught between the drive belt and the Ego's plastic sprocket. The grit ate up the sprocket like sandpaper, and the belt started skipping, then eventually shredded the belt from the pointy "tip" when the rounded edges wore down.
