For half price Monday, some friends and I decided to go to a game as a group for the second time this season. It was also the second time rain delayed the start of the game, this one lasting for an hour. It would rain a couple times during play, but it was played through. Coming into this game, Mark Buehrle had 4 No Decisions since his Perfect Game and was looking for a W against the Royals while facing Brian Bannister. 1: In the 2nd with two outs, after a close play at second went for a double and the first hit of the game for the Royals, Maier scores in Mark Teahen with a single. 2: Yunieski Betancourt rounds the bases after hitting a 2 Run homer on the next at bat. Royals lead 3-0. 3: With a man on, Alex Rios hits a ball to short to go for the 6-4-3 double play (As seen on Sportscenter's Top Ten (Number 6)). 4: In the next at bat, Alexei Ramirez bloops a ball into right for a base hit. 5: Jayson Nix homers to put the Sox within one. 6: With the bases loaded in the 4th, Mark Buehrle gets a comebacker and turns the 1-2-3 double play. 7: In the Sox half of the 4th, Ramirez reached base on a fielder's choice, retiring Rios on his way to third. Scott Podsednik comes through with the RBI double to tie the game. 8: A single by Billy Butler in the 5th scores in Bloomquist and gives the Royals a 4-3 lead. 9: AJ Pierzynski hits it to Callaspo who turns a fancy double play. 10: With Carlos Quentin on base after he was hit by a pitch, Rios delivers a single that is misplayed by ...

Octavio Eduardo Dotel (born November 25, 1973 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. He throws and bats Right. On June 24, 2004, Dotel was traded to the Oakland Athletics in a three-team trade that brought slugger Carlos Beltran to the Astros, minor leaguer Mike Wood, Mark Teahen, and John Buck to the Kansas City Royals. Dotel served as closer for the Athletics and finished the 2004 season with a career-high 36 saves (22 for the A's and 14 for the Astros). The highlight of the season for Dotel occurred on September 2nd against the Chicago White Sox. In the 4-2 victory, he struck out Joe Borchard to end the game, raising his arms in excitement. Dotel began 2005 as closer for the Athletics again, but had a rough start and soon went on the 60-day disabled list on May 19. It was a hot Sunday afternoon in the 90's as the hometown Kansas City Royals hosted the Minnesota Twins. The Royals beat the Twins 5 to 4 in 12 innings! The Royals tied it up at 4 late in the game, sending it into extra innings, and eventually won it in the 12th inning when struggling Tony Pena Jr. came thru with 2 clutch hits, the 2nd one being the game winner! Joakim Soria pitched scoreless 8th and 9th inning, recording 4 strikeouts. Mark Teahen came away with 3 hits, while the Royals prevented the many Twins fans in attendance from celebrating a sweep series. Put those brooms away!! Royals Win!!! Enjoy the Royals Waterfountain Spectacular, the New Jumbo Tron, George Brett's bronze statue, and the rest of the ballpark scene! "Hot dog anyone!?"

A photo montage of the Kansas City Royals' players, fans, and stadium to the song These Are My People by Rodney Atkins. Sure, everybody wants to win, but true Royals fans can see beyond the 100-loss seasons. They see the glory years, in the 70's and 80's. They see all the past events of the beautiful stadium. Most of all, they see others who love this team, and they see the unity that comes from 20000 people cheering on a hot July night.
This is a Kansas City Royals photo montage to the song I Guess You're Right.
