With the introduction of the province's feed-in-tariff (FIT) program as an incentive to reduce demand on the electrical grid, mechanical engineering technologies professor, Leo Salemi and his team of students are working on ways to develop efficient solar technology. With this goal in mind, Salemi is building a roster of sustainable energy projects and industry partners through their new virtual and physical lab space at George Brown College's Casa Loma Campus.
Salemi's test projects in remote sensing for energy usage and sustainable-energy technologies are an active area of research in the R&D community. With this sectoral demand, along with Ontario government's Green Energy Act, allowed Salemi to convince the Office of Applied Research to allocate funding to software and mechanical engineering instrumentation projects.
The main scope of our FINAL YEAR MECHANICAL project is to locate defects due to corrosion and obstacle at the inner side of the pipe line. Nevertheless, damage still occurs, which reduces the strength of the pipe. If it goes undetected and becomes severe, the pipe can leak and, in rare cases, fail catastrophically. So, extensive efforts are made to mitigate defects.So we proposed a new design in inspecting pipelines.

Mechanical Engineering Students from the University of Colorado Denver spent the Summer of 2009 converting a broken down 1967 Triumph Spitfire into a 100% Electric Vehicle.
