At daybreak on July 22, 2003, a powerful complex of thunderstorms, known as a derecho, hit the city of Memphis, with recorded wind speeds of up to 102mph. The storm knocked out power to most of the city, which lasted up to two weeks for some, and resulted in millions of dollars of damage that would take months to repair. Because of the power outage, I do not have any actual storm/news coverage from that day, but I have uploaded a special that WMC did a couple of weeks afterward, which highlighted the storm, its damage, and the cleanup/restoration effort that ensued.
