But there were a few surprises and we're breaking everything down in our recap-that's next! Welcome back to ClevverTV. I'm Joslyn Davis and today I'm talking about all the winners at the recent SAG Awards. Now for those of you who don't know, the SAG or Screen Actors Guild Awards are incredibly special to actors because you may've guessed, winners are chosen by peers. Not only that, the SAG awards are usually a really close sign of what we'll like see, as far as winners are concerned, at the Oscars. There were a ton of repeat winners-people who have already won during this awards show season or who have won in previous years. Some of those repearters included comedy powerhouse Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, as well as Monique, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Bacon and Michael C. Hall who already took home trophies at the Golden Globes. The always gracious and super funny Sandra Bullock took home one of the top honors of the night for her role in the Blindside. She hit the stage on another occasion though to give Betty White the Life Achievement award, who even in her 80's had the crowd rolling in laughter. Another repeat winner was Julianna Marguilies. This was her 7th SAG award, but her very first for her role in The Good Wife. She gave a great speech, thanking her parents for their support. Im Dana Ward and were dishing the winners list from the very famous entertainment industry awards show: the Golden Globes. It was a big night for a handful of different shows and movies. The actors and actresses taking home trophies include Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Robert Downey Jr. as well as MoNique and Christopher Waltz for various film performances. Avatar won for Best Motion Picture Drama, The Hangover got Best Musical or Comedy movie and in the animation sub-category, it went to UP. As far as television goes, Julianna Margulies, Michael C. Hall, Toni Collette, Alec Baldwin, Drew Barrymore and Kevin Bacon, Chloe Sevigny and John Lithgow all earned top honors. And so did breakout show, Glee and Mad Men. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association decided some other awards for the show as well, including naming James Cameron as the Best Director for Avatar, Up In The Air won for Best Screenplay while UP earned the Best Original Score and finally, Martin Scorscese took home a Globe for his lifetime achievement in the industry. The Golden Globes are known to be the Oscar preview as many of the GG winners wind up receiving an Academy Award as well.
