The California Lottery's TV game show, "Make Me a Millionaire," awarded $208000 in cash and prizes to 12 lucky contestants this week. Rodolfo Ramelb, a retiree from Long Beach, won $60000 playing California Cool. Ramelb, who is originally from the Philippines, moved to the United States 30 years ago and worked as a plumber, then later as a special education teacher at a state run hospital. He plans to use a portion of his money to visit his family in the Philippines. Shalina Tapia of Lakewood walked away $54000 richer after playing Safe Cracker. Tapia works for the Department of Motor Vehicles and recently moved to California from Michigan. She plans to use her money to move out into her own place and start a life with her boyfriend of four years. Two other contestants Loraine Murray of Monterey and Janna Houlihan of El Cajon won new cars - the Limited Edition California Jetta made by Volkswagen. Murray is an apartment manager and Houlihan is a homemaker.
