Throw out the measurables. Over 250 players will be drafted this year, and only 16, by Nolan Nawrocki's count, have the three most important traits: toughness, instincts, and competitiveness. And they're not all first-rounders.
NFL teams that fail to make the playoffs leave their fans disappointed and frustrated, but according to Bleacher Report Draft Expert Matt Miller, there are a handful of clubs that will reverse their postseason fortunes through key additions at the 2012 NFL Draft. This year, Big "D" stands for defense as the Cowboyslook to bolster a weak secondary. There is a lot depth at defensive back in the first two rounds of this draft, and the Cowboys can sure up a suspect defense by selecting a player like Alfonzo Dennard, Casey Hayward or Mark Barron. To say that last year was a disappointment for the Eagles is a gross understatement. However, the Eagles resigned several key players, including DeSean Jackson and will looking to add another receiver in the draft, along with a backup for Michael Vick. With just a few key tweaks and additions, the Eagles should be in place to once again ascend to the top of the NFC. Several other franchises will look for a bit of draft magic at the end of April. So which other fan bases should take courage in their teams' postseason prospects for next year after the draft? Matt Miller gives you the lowdown. The 2012 NFL Draft is now just six short weeks away and things are really kicking into high gear, especially with Tuesday's ushering in of the official free agent signing period. "The Decision" Part II, featuring Peyton Manning and his ultimate landing spot, is monopolizing the latest headlines, leaving the likes of RGIII and Andrew Luck below the fold. Other, slightly-lesser known names do come into focus on this week's episode of NFL Draft 365 as Matt Miller brings us into his war room with a rundown of his top sleeper picks likely to emerge from the 2012 Draft. Additionally, DraftNasty Founder and former NFL Safety Corey Chavous ventures to the Bleacher Report compound to answer an array of questions surround the hottest topics this off-season -- both in free agency and the draft. Chavous weighs in on the future of North Carolina's Quinton Coples, Rutgers Mohamed Sanu, South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery and Alabama's Courtney Upshaw. Don't miss The Rush and an exclusive interview with Justin Blackmon -- all on NFLDraft365. NFL Draft 365 is a production of Bleacher Report Videos. NFL Draft 365 is joined by the founder of www.DraftNasty.com, Corey Chavous will be breaking down the draft this week. Chavous, the former 12 year veteran NFL safety studies hundreds of prospects each year and knows how to choose the diamonds in the rough. Also, if your team is in need of a running back, all eyes are surely on Trent Richardson to fill that hole. However, our draft guru Matt Miller tells you what other running backs deserve some real attention besides Richardson. And, what do Brandon Weedon, Cam Newton and Peyton Manning all have in common, besides being quarterbacks? Answer: Chris Weinke. That's right, we caught up with the former Heisman Trophy winner to discuss the three quarterbacks that join him in this illustrious fraternity. Although Georgia Tight End Orson Charles decided not to run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, he remained on the top of a lot of team's boards. However, on his Pro Day workout, he faced harsh winds and clocked in at a 4.75. Matt Miller caught up with Charles at Indy to discuss how he'd fit in with the NFL. This is a CMaX Production. Mohamed Sanu and his brother, Jevon Tyree, are the hardest working athletes on the east coast. Both graduates from South Brunswick High school, Sanu and Tyree stood out effortlessly on the football field. After graduating high school, Sanu went to Rutgers where he continued to stand out, breaking multiple school and conference records including Larry Fitzgerald's record for most catches in a season. Now it is Jevon Tyree's turn. Tyree lead his South Brunswick high school team to a near flawless season. Leaving South Brunswick with the best school record of all time. Just yesterday, Tyree signed a letter of intent to play football at Rutgers University. We all are very excited to see what this kid is going to do at the next level. Sanu and Tyree have fed off each other from the first time they met and will continue to push the boundaries of football.
