I decided to go catch some trains at Mukilteo before I went out of town. Ended up not being a bad hour down there. Just as I was driving in, I saw a westbound Z train coming into sight so I got my camera out and held it by hand... Sorry if it's a bit shaky. BNSF 654 leads it's train out of Mukilteo, Washington after having to stop to set out some cars and wait for a southbound manifest train to pass by. It was a surprise to see two CN units in the consist. An even bigger plus was the three Boeing 737's in tow.
This northbound BNSF Canadian manifest had broken an airhose just north in MP18 in Edmonds. The train had to creep the rest of the way into Everett because most of it's train had no brakes due to the broken arihose being toward the front of the train.
Part two of my day railfanning in Mukilteo, Washington. Train 1: SDRX 906 powers the second Sounder train of the day out of the station. Train 2: Amtrak Empire Builder flies by. Train 3: was an eastbound intermodal train with an NS SD70M-2 in the consist and two DPU's on the rear. Train 4: was the last Sounder of the day with the Orca engine (SDRX 902) powering it. Train 5: was a westbound Z train. Train 6: was Amtrak 516, the Vancouver BC bound Amtrak Cascades train. Train 7: was a westbound auto/stack train with two Boeing 737's in tow. Train 8: was a northbound Canadian manifest train with a brand new ES44DC in the consist. I hope you all enjoy!
Part 2 coming soon! It was an extremely busy day on the BNSF Scenic Subdivision. Train 1 was a northbound coal train. Train 2 was the Boeing Local heading back to Bayside Yard in Everett. Train 3 was a northbound garbage train with an AWESOME locomotive consist. Trains 3 & 4 were both intermodal train that ended up meeting right in front of me. Train 5 was a northbound Canadian manifest which had stopped to cut out two skyboxes to the Boeing lead. More to come in PART 2. Hope you enjoy!

An extremely long BNSF manifest heads north through Mukilteo, Washington.
After coupling up to some cars on the Boeing back track, the train rolls forward to line up with the switch to reverse onto the dock.
After coming down the steep Boeing lead, BNSF's Boeing local backs up to pick up some containers to take them to the barge dock.
The BNSF Boeing local screeches down the lead track from the main Boeing facility in Everett, Washington. The track ends up dropping the train down into Mukilteo. I'm not sure how steep the grade is but it is incredibly steep. BNSF 2080 and 2081 (MSTS GP38 unit) lead.

I found these old videos just the otherday. A long northbound BNSF manifest train cruises through Mukilteo, Washington. It meets with a southbound manifest stopped on the siding. Notice how different the track configuration was then. This was taken on Febuary 12, 2007.
