London: 5 October 2009 Flash Alert! Flash Alert! Summer is definitely over. Today was a freezing wait starting at nine thirty at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane for a 5:30pm start. The forecast said no rain and boy were they wrong. Anyway, it was miserable weather all day, but as soon as the show began it stopped and spirits were uplifted. But I get ahead of myself dear viewer. I assembled early alongside the usual suspects waiting for a wrist band that guarantees a good spot. It was after 2pm before I had one on my wrist and could relax a bit. It turned out well as we were away from the paps and their flashes. Flashes and video do not really mix. We got a great place just before the stars went in to the gig after they had been interviewed and papped. Dozens of screaming school kids were there too and that made a big difference to the atmosphere particularly when their young favourites visited the fanline. There were dozens of celebrities parading along the carpet and it was tough keeping each in shot when the temptation of yet another came along. A great night for autograph hunters and those wanting two-heads pictures. There were plenty of opportunities for each and the celebs were very accommodating.
