Watch the whole video at www.nj.com My reaction to this video is pure rage. The nerve of this fat pig to go after NJ Transit riders, while trying to make us feel sorry for motorists who have to pay tolls on a few roads in NJ (actually only two...NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway). He shows absolutely no concience for those who rely on NJ Transit buses, trains, and light rail. Many folks who can afford it will simply give up NJT and drive. Years of hard work gaining ridership thrown out the window as riders leave the system and choose their cars, starting a vicious cycle of budget shortfalls as ridership and revenue declines. I have never seen such an assinine Governor in my life., This guy even make Paterson seem like a saint. Let this fat pig know he will not get away with this! A single-engine plane reporting on traffic had to make an emergency landing on the New Jersey Turnpike on Monday, inadvertently becoming the cause of a morning rush-hour jam. No injuries were reported. (Feb. 1)
Warning: Bad Language Used By Narrator Of Video. (f---, s---, etc.) The picture is a tad hazy. About 15 seconds into the video, you can make out the rear part of the plane. "That explains the g-damn helicopters, don't it" refers to three helicopters I previously saw hovering over the area. (I presumed that they were traffic news copters.) According to the news article(s), the plane landed on the turnpike at 6:46am, www.timeslive.co.za www.msnbc.msn.com www.cbsnews.com I missed the landing by about an hour. I think I would have screamed like a little girl if I had seen an airplane attempting to land in front of me on the highway.

This was a truck fire on the south side of the NJ Turnpike between Exit 4 and Exit 5 under Creek Road on Saturday, November 28, 2009. It turned into a 14 mile backup and ended up damaging the overpass above it.
i recorded this video on the nj turnpike on 12/08/09 after leaving traffic court. these troopers will pull u over in a heart beat for speeding but they allow these trucks to drive in the cars lane only roadway for over 20 miles. the shocking thing is that I saw a trooper had a lady pulled over with a audi TT and then they were two others speeding going up the turnpike doing at least 110mph with no lights on. There needs to be a federal investigaton.
Over forty years ago Simon and Garfunkel sang "counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike". Could this be what they envisioned? The video was taken on Saturday November 28, 2009, Thanksgiving weekend. The traffic was in the southbound lanes and began about five miles before I started the video. I just caught a glimpse but it looked like a burning tractor trailer was the cause.
The bus is supposed to get into Port Authority Bus Terminal at 6:30pm. We dont get there until 7:30pm. It took more time to travel between the NJTP Toll Booths and the Lincoln Tunnel Toll booth than from Toms River to Secaucus! At times we didn't move for over 10 minutes, and didn't go much more than 3mph. You could walk it faster! All this thanks to a bunch of selfish idoits who decide to drive into NYC, instead of take the myraid of public transportation options available. In the morning rush, a lane is reserved for buses. Clearly this needs to be done at ALL TIMES. Why should smart folks like me who do the right thing and take the bus be forced to sit in traffic with all these people who married their cars? Clearly the Port Authority isnt doing the right thing for the environment. Also tolls for private cars should be $20. You want to drive and clog up the roads and air with pollution, then pay for it. I'm sick of the politicians in bed with their cars instead of doing the right thing for our planet. Contact the Port Authority and let them know buses should ALWAYS get priority over cars. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals One Madison Avenue, 5th Floor New York, NY 10010 www.panynj.gov And NJ Transit needs to be pro-active in dealing with this problem by using alternative routing via Holland tunnel or even better having buses stop at Secaucus Junction (which is right off the turnpike) and having trains cross honor bus tickets ...
Ledger Live for Wednesday November 18th, 2009 - Ledger Live with Brian Donohue. On today's show: Authorities have stopped trying to capture a wild turkey that calls Interchange 14B on the New Jersey Turnpike home. The bird has been causing havoc for toll collectors and motorists as it runs across toll booths, plays in traffic, and sits atop toll collectors' parked cars. -- Tammy was captured early this morning by officials from NJ Fish and Wildlife.
A wild turkey that has been playing chicken along the NJ Turnpike since August won't be dodging Thanksgiving traffic. The bird was netted Wednesday at the Jersey City interchange after failed attempts over the weekend. (Nov. 18)
This free Interstate runs right next to the New Jersey Turnpike.from the Delaware Memorial Bridge north. Yeah, you suffer a little more due to the rough pavement but traffic is always lighter. For some reason the cops are heavier on 295 than on the turnpike Heading north options include getting off at Bordentown and picking up the turnpike past the Pilot or continuing north until I-295 ends and go north on Rt. 1. Not a bad ride if you have decent shocks and a good detector.
SECAUCUS, NJ - New Jersey State Police were taken on a high speed chase along the New Jersey Turnpike to Route 80 West, Route 80 East and then back to the New Jersey Turnpike on Monday morning.Troopers pulled the late model Toyota Camry over during a routine traffic stop in East Rutherford. The car was traveling nearly 90 miles per hour. The driver finally came to a stop when he reached the toll plaza in Secaucus at around 9:15 am SkyFoxHD was following the car. A man slowly moved out of the driver side as State Police approached. Several troopers pulled the man to the ground. A woman could be seen walking out of the passenger side of the vehicle. She was also arrested. During the chase, the driver could be seen tossing small bags out the window. A preliminary report from NJ State Police indicates the bags were full of drugs.

This is a nice ride through fairly heavy traffic in the area between Deleware and souther NJ. I was bored so I cranked up the tunes and rode it out. I very much like this new version of this song which I heard here on Sirius Outlaw Country (Channel 63). Ride along and no bitching.

A tractor trailer was in a collision this afternoon, igniting the truck's fuel and then causing an explosion. The camera was placed facing northbound on I-95 in New Jersey, close to Exit 68 / Challenger Road. Two plumes of smoke can be seen. The plume on the left of the video is smoke from the trailer while the plume on the right seems to be from debris on fire that was hurled across the highway and on to the side of the road.
From the series: The Skadventures of Ska Jenny Fright Fest with Sara 1/6 "Turnpike Traffic" In this episode, Ska Jenny and Sara prepare for their long adventure from approximately NYC to 6Flags Great Adventure. They are stuck in solid rushhour traffic going southbound on the NJ Turnpike and see fit to vent about it and comment on such things as the Newark Airport and watching other people drive.
NJ TURNPIKE The greatest roadway of America
NJ Turnpike Exit 16E/18E Traffic
While driving down the New Jersey Turnpike, I encounter a nasty case of traffic constipation. What previosuly had been a very smooth traffic flow, now suffered cramping internal and external blockage. I followed along for awhile when traffic began jumping lanes in an attempt to jockey past a Jersey tagged, Left Lane Bandit. Smokey himself would have been impressed with the skill of this Bandit in making sure he was not passed. I knew he was pedalling it as his speed increased and decreased to maintain pace with the oblivious driver in the right lane. Things started hyping up and I thought there might be some action and I reached for my camera. Sorry I missed the onset but I honestly thought this blockage would soften and pass quickly. As a result, you only get to see the end. I added quite a few comments, some navigational others downright sarcastic.
Got nothing better to do? Then take a ride with me through northern New Jersey on Interstates 280 and the NJ Turnpike. See all kinds of interesting stuff as we pass by Jersey City, Kearny and the Newark Airport. North Jersey has rough roads and a lot of haul ass traffic so it's not boring. Pretty long video with lots of my usual type comments.
