A Fullerton, Calif., judge on Monday increased the bail to $2 million for Andrew Gallo, the 22-year-old man charged in the traffic collision death of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two other people, The Associated Press reported. Gallo had nearly three times the legal blood-alcohol level when he ran a red light in his minivan Thursday and hit the car carrying Adenhart, the report said. The Associated Press also reported Orange County Superior Court Judge Roger B. Robbins continued Andrew Gallo's arraignment until June 8. Also killed in the collision were the car's driver, Courtney Stewart, 20, of Diamond Bar, Calif., and passenger Henry Pearson, 25, of Manhattan Beach, Calif. Jon Wilhite, 24, of Manhattan Beach, was injured in the crash and has been upgraded to serious condition. Gallo was charged with three counts of murder, felony drunken driving and fleeing the scene of a traffic accident causing death or injury, among other counts. If convicted of all counts, he could face nearly 55 years to life in prison. Scott discusses the charges with Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer Mike Kraut

jutabiz.com - Terrible news out of California this morning, where we've just learned that the Angels' Nick Adenhart was killed in an early morning hit-and-run accident in Fullerton on Thursday. The news was first reported by TMZ and later confirmed by Yahoo! Sports baseball columnist Tim Brown. Just 22 years old, Adenhart started for Los Angeles on Wednesday night and struck out five over six scoreless innings in a 6-4 loss to Oakland. According to reports, Adenhart was driving home with three others in his Mitsubishi when a mini-van ran through a red light and hit Adenhart's car, causing it to crash into a light pole. Two passengers in the car died on the scene while another was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the mini-van fled the scene, but was later apprehended by police. This is the most tragic news you can imagine in the baseball world and our thoughts go out to Adenhart's family and the entire Angels' organization, which was already reeling from the death of a fan who was involved in a fight on Opening Day

"Dusk had come this cool April eighth, Fans packed in bringing their faith, On Angel wings a young man would soar, for six scoreless innings the crowd would roar, but what did we know of this phenom we saw, one things for sure, once he was small, a short time ago he waited for the snow to melt away, so he could grab his glove, his dad, catch they would play, spring in Maryland, he just couldnt wait, that precious smile, his mothers trait, i can only imagine, this man who's name I only knew, how much happiness he brought to his family as he grew, but at 12:24 on an early April nine, a hero was taken from us, way before his time, its hard to imagine he was here just last night, and how I got angry after the loss, which wasn't right, how tragedy struck a young man who's name i only knew, I can't consume how many tears his family drew, but one thing i do know, as true as our shores on real angel wings this young man now soars" Angels Baseball this morning announced the passing of right-hander Nick Adenhart, the victim of a fatal automobile accident in Fullerton, CA. I'm not making this video to chastise people for buying or selling RC's. I mean, I'm the biggest RC collector of a certain rookie that I know. But the things that people are putting up of a player that only died this morning to me is a bit much. Maybe I'm a bit off base, but making RIP pics of a guy who died this morning and selling them on eBay is in poor taste. I only bring it up, because these shennanigans get tied to our hobby.
