Sunday, January 10, 2010 It was the Season Opener at Daytona Int. Speedway for the Daytona 300 of the CRI SS Series Season 4. Sunday's race was rough. There were 3 Big One's. The 3rd Big One was the worst of them all. Matt Stewart (#22) bumps Chad Mikosz (#52) into Turn 1 causing the 3rd Big One of the day and takes out most of the field. Shawn Taylor would go on to win the race under caution. The intensity was picking up as there were 4 laps remaining in the Goodyear Wrangler 250 @ CRI Superspeedway. The high line was making a lot of ground up, and with only 4 laps to go, everyone was pushing 110%. #33 Adam Codol was desperately trying to get past the No. 93 No Fear Silverado of Josh Chin. Codol was sliding back in line, hoping to try and shoot by Chin later, when disaster struck. The two touched at 194mph, in front of a tight pack of 15 trucks, turning the 33 head on into the wall, Roof first. #64, Brett Lawrence made a rare appearance in the truck series, but it will not be one to remember. Air got under the truck, sending it flying down the front stretch, where he was then struck by the 13 of Matt Patterson. The truck began to roll, over and over, finally coming to rest on its wheels, 23 flips later. When it was all said and done, 15 trucks were involved in the wreck, the most ever in truck series history. Josh Chin would go on to win the race under yellow. Because of the two trucks sailing over the pit wall, construction began immediately to add a fence to the pit road wall. Rick Allen, Phil Parsons, and Michael Waltrip with the call.
