Famimaga Video was a VHS series for videogame previews put out by the makers of Family Computer Magazine (Famimaga.) The magazine itself was aimed at a condescendingly young readership (think Japanese Nintendo Power), but fortunately this video series is mostly a sober reporting of new game releases and game tips (no reviews, unfortunately.) Famimaga Video and other gaming preview VHS tapes were rented out at video stores in Japan (and seldom sold) so it's especially difficult to find them in this day and age. This episode was released around July 1990, and covers games such as Captain Tsubasa II, Super Star Soldier, Ninja Spirit, and Super Monaco GP. But the main focus of this month's video is the "Namco special". Some cool things to look out for in this episode: -An arcade game review by Satoshi Tajiri, founder of gamefreak and creator of Pokemon. (Hist first ever game was published by Namco, incidentally.) -A "Paper Sumo" tournament judged by some game company representatives Check out my webpage for more retro gaming: www.chrismcovell.com

Famed video game developer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed information regarding such a process during his keynote speech at the Game Developers Conference in 2007. He stated that the current Mii design is based on traditional Japanese wooden dolls (known as "Kokeshi"), and also highlighted several stages of the Mii's development process.
