UPDATE: www.youtube.com A search continues this morning for a three-month-old New Jersey girl after her 21-year-old father told police he threw her over the Driscoll Bridge. East Orange police say Shamshiddin Abdur-Raheem abducted his daughter after punching her elderly grandmother on Tuesday afternoon. Officers say he stopped on the bridge on the Garden State Parkway and threw her into the Raritan River. A police boat was on the river Wednesday morning and a police aircraft was aiding in the search. The bridge separates Sayreville and Woodbridge. Police confirm that Abdur-Raheem has been arrested but there is no sign of the child. An Amber Alert had been issued Tuesday night. Abdur-Raheem was the biological father of the child but did not have custody rights. The man's grandmother was hospitalized Wednesday because of injuries from his attack.
Democrats' Fuzzy Health Care Math By Sean Hannity A quick trip around Hannity's America... Fuzzy Math Regardless of what side you're on in the health care debate, there's no denying the Democrats' plan is going to cost this country a great deal of money. Which is why many of us are left scratching our heads when President Obama made this pledge: (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, SEPT. 9: I will not sign any plan that adds one dime to our deficits, either now or in the future. (END VIDEO CLIP) Tuesday, the Washington Times exposed some of the budget tricks the Democrats are using in order to help fulfill the president's promise. For example, this week the Senate will vote on a $250 billion Medicare reimbursement bill. Initially this was slated to be a part of the health care legislation, but since it would send the cost of reform soaring well over $1 trillion, Democrats decided to carve it out of the bill and hold a separate vote. Looks like fuzzy math is making a comeback in Washington. Mr. Nice Guy The mainstream Obama-mania media has finally gotten to the bottom of why the president has not been able to get anything of substance done since taking office. A story on abcnews.com says the reason the president hasn't taken a firm stance on critical issues like the war on Afghanistan is because he may just be too nice. As Newsbuster.org points out, the article asks, "Is the president essentially 'too nice' to make the important decisions?" I knew the media would ...
In this video press release, Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo (D-Mercer) discusses his legislation (A-2844) to create a "Silver Alert" system in New Jersey to notify the public about missing persons who are believed to be suffering from dementia or other cognitive impairments. The system - based on the state's successful "Amber Alert" system to recover missing or abducted children - would be a voluntary, cooperative effort between state and local law enforcement agencies and the broadcast media.
