GRONINGEN - Ruim een derde van de Noord-Groninger dijken voldoet niet meer aan de eisen. Dat blijkt uit een inspectie van waterschap Noorderzijlvest. Noorderzijlvest beheert 66 kilometer zeedijk tussen Lauwersoog en Delfzijl. Daarvan voldoet 22 kilometer niet meer aan de wettelijke eisen. De dijken worden eens in de vijf jaar getoetst en bij de laatste keuring was er 'slechts' 900 meter zeedijk niet in orde. De toename komt doordat de normen voor zeedijken zijn bijgesteld. De dijken moeten sindskort een superstorm kunnen doorstaan, die eens in de 4000 jaar voorkomt.

Obama promised transparency, but he clearly didn't deliver. Repeatedly, he's conducted backroom deals and Chicago politics, weasling votes out of anyone he can to pass laws that would have never passed on their own right. His politics are too radical, so he has to resort to these means to get his agenda through. Apparently, he doesn't think you care anymore, because he doesn't feel the need to even pretend to be transparent any longer.
President Obama has sent his "ethics" czar packing...literally. Norm Eisen was the ethics czar, and now he is the Ambassador to the Czech Republic. Now, what was it that Obama was saying about Transparency and Open Government? Oh yes...from the White House website - www.whitehouse.gov NOTE - What the heck happened with that opening? It looked great in the editing. Something to work on.
