"You Never Give Me Your Money" is a song by The Beatles that opens the climactic medley on side two of the album Abbey Road.It was mainly written by Paul McCartney (though attributed to Lennon/McCartney).The song begins with two verses sung by McCartney in a large-sound,almost classical style. This is followed by a section played in a double time swing feel with McCartney switching to a more nasal vocal style, using a mock-baritone voice which contrasts the song's somewhat poignant lyrics.Next comes an instrumental interlude with George Harrison's aggressive blues rock-style and a concluding unison line between guitar and bass. The song fades out with a chant reminiscent of a nursery rhyme, set to a Harrison guitar riff similar to a previous album track, "Here Comes the Sun".The riff will return later in the medley's track "Carry That Weight".The song's production is notable for prominent use of leslie amplified, arpeggiated guitar parts, which would become synonymous with the late-era Beatles sound. It slowly and quietly segues into "Sun King". The Beatles recorded 26 takes of "You Never Give Me Your Money" on 6 May 1969,with McCartney on piano and vocals,Lennon and Harrison on guitar and Starr on drums. At this early stage the song ended abruptly prior to the "One two three four five six seven" refrain. On 1 July McCartney overdubbed lead vocals onto take 30,and added more vocals and chimes on 15 July. "You Never Give Me Your Money" was originally to segue into "Sun King" with a ...

My second ever composition made for my second semester music theory class's final project! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, especially since I toiled on it for months. It got an "A" grade! Well, it was written as a song for voice and piano, so it actually has lyrics, but this is the MIDI version that I heard when I was composing it, using the "Finale Notepad" software. I got the lyrics online. Apparently it's an Italian nursery rhyme. The reason you see a picture of a butterfly is because 'farfallina' is the Italian word for 'butterfly'. Here are the lyrics, if anyone cares: Farfallina, bella e bianca, vola, vola, mai si stanca! Gira qua e gira la. Ecco, ecco a trovata, bianca e rosa colorata. Gira qua e gira la! Oh, and sorry if there were some odd harmonies you didn't like. I was required to use an Augmented 6 chord, a secondary leading tone or dominant, and a borrowed chord. So I used a German Augmented 6, several dominant of dominants, leading tone dominant of dominants, and dominant 7 of something else, and a borrowed minor iv.
07. Shoots And Ladders LYRICS: Ring-a-round-the-rosies. Pocket full of posies. Ashes, ashes, we all fall down. Nursery rhymes are said, verses in my head. Into my childhood, they're spoon fed. Hidden violence revealed, darkness that seems real. Look at the pages that cause all this evil. One, two - buckle my shoe. Three, four - shut the door. Five, six - pick up sticks. Seven, eight - lay them straight London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down my fair lady. Nursery rhymes are said, verses in my head. Into my childhood, they're spoon fed. Hidden violence revealed, darkness that seems real. Look at the pages that cause all this evil. Knick-knack paddywhack, give a dog a bone. This old man came rolling home. Mary had a little lamb, it's fleece was white as snow. Baa Baa Black have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full. Ring-a-round-the-rosies. Pocket full of posies. Ashes, ashes, we all fall down. Nursery rhymes are said, verses in my head. Into my childhood, they're spoon fed. Hidden violence revealed, darkness that seems real. Look at the pages that cause all this evil. Knick-knack paddywhack, give a dog a bone!

The "Mighty Eighth" began operations in England on Feb. 20, 1942, when Brig. Gen. Ira C. Eaker led a seven-man advance team to scout the country and prepare for the arrival of American combat flying units. For the next four years, England became the USAAF's "unsinkable aircraft carrier" as they fought the Luftwaffe and Hitler's Axis forces. By D-Day on June 6, 1944, the USAAF had two-thirds of its operational forces in England and by the end of the war, almost 350000 airmen had passed through the 8th Air Force. Weaved into the green patchwork of East Anglia were more than 130 American bases, about 75 of them airfields. East Anglia appears as the bulge on the map north of London, and it's about the size of Vermont. The Eighth flew from bases with names the GIs said sounded like they came from nursery rhymes -- Bury St. Edmunds, Bassingbourn, Eye, Kingscliffe, Podington, Bungay, Martlesham Heath, Little Walden, Molesworth and Duxford, to name a few. During the war years, US servicemen outnumbered local nationals 50 to one in some villages. A normal station was home to about 50 heavy bombers -- Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses and Consolidated B-24 Liberators -- and 2500 men who flew, serviced and repaired the planes or supported air operations. Each morning bombers took off at 30- to 45-second intervals and would gather 20000 feet above England in a slow revolving spiral before crossing the North Sea and blasting the Third Reich's war-machinery plants, fuel supplies and ...
This traditional Nursery rhyme and was made into this short animated movie by kids from Poleglass area of Belfast. The kids were aged between 7 and 12 and took part in the Lisburn Libraries Project 2004 animation workshop which was facilitated by Michael of Animatazz and Mike Bass and were co-ordinated by Studio - On, in Belfast. Having introduced the concept of animation, its magic and other technical details through animation and movie making exercises, we, Michael and Mike thought it would be great if the kids could achieve a finished animated movie. Turning the rhyme into a rap was a wonderful accident. They designed and built their own characters using plasticine as well as other bits and pieces. This workshop was for 5 days and took place after school in their local library.

My band doing a Rush Project! This video is us working out the tune! I recored all of 2112! Guitar, David Heydon. Drums, Ron Norris .bass, Neil Randazzo!! hit me up at www.myspace.com www.myspace.com From the Hemispheres album. This was Rush's first entirely instrumental piece. It clocks in at almost ten minutes long. The instrumental's subtitle is "An exercise in Self-Indulgence". The multi-part song was inspired by a dream guitarist Alex Lifeson had, and the music in these sections correspond to the occurrences in his dream. The opening segment was played with a plectrum on a nylon-string classical guitar, while the live versions were played on an electric guitar. This segment is basically a Spanish-flavored scale based on E Phrygian. The next segment introduces the main theme of La Villa, the Strangiato theme. The song progresses to include an increasingly complex guitar solo backed by string synthesizer, followed closely by bass and drum fills. The Strangiato theme is then revisited before the song ends abruptly with phased bass and drums. The song is divided as follows: I: "Buenos Nochas, Mein Froinds!" - (0:00) II: "To sleep, perchance to dream..." - (0:27) III: "Strangiato theme" - (2:00) IV: "A Lerxst in Wonderland" - (3:16) V: "Monsters!" - (5:49) VI: "The Ghost of the Aragon" - (6:10) VII: "Danforth and Pape" - (6:45) VIII: "The Waltz of the Shreves" - (7:26) IX: "Never turn your back on a Monster!" - (7:52) X: "Monsters! (Reprise)" - (8:03) XI: "Strangiato ...
